Race Day Schedule

Sunday May 22nd
All participants must have a car booked in the Race Entry List. Only the fastest 33 cars will be allowed to start the race. In the event that less than 33 qualified on May 15th, the remainder of the field will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis on Race Day. In the event that 33 qualified and there were drivers too slow to make the 33 car field, up to three alternates will be named (34th, 35th and 36th fastest) for Race Day, in the case that one or more of the qualified cars do not appear.

20h00 - Warm up session for race (please select superspeedway configuration)
20h15 - Opening ceremonies and drivers briefing

20h30 - Race Start | 200 laps (after 2 pace laps)

The following rules will be observed during the race:

The race will commence via a rolling start behind a pace car with the traditional eleven rows of three. Ben Paulet will be driving the 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Pace Car. The following start procedure will occur:

- The race server is set for 202 laps, the extra two laps being the pace laps.

- All drivers, including Ben, join the grid during the countdown; Ben will be lined up in front with the pace car.

- After the countdown, the race clock will start, at which point the admin in charge of the race types "START FORMATION LAP." This is Ben's cue to start the pace laps; the field can roll away ONLY when Ben starts to roll away.

- Drivers are advised to conduct the pace laps in second gear; higher gears produce more turbocharger lag, making it more difficult to maintain grid position.

- Ben, cruising at apx 100 MPH, completes the lap, then starts the 2nd pace lap and at the backstretch the admin types: "HOLD FORMATION, GREEN NEXT TIME AROUND" so that everybody gets close, 3-wide and ready.

- Exiting turn 4 Ben leaves for the pits and the admin types "GREEN FLAG"

- This will be the only occasion where the pace car is on the track during the event.

No full course yellows will be used in this race.

No pit speed limit will be enforced, but drivers are advised to enter and exit the pits in a careful manner.

Pit Entry and Exit Procedures

During the race, cars entering the pits must fade left briefly on the backstretch to signal their intent to pit. This rule will only apply if a car or cars are running immediately behind the pitting car. Failure to follow this procedure could result in a post-race penalty.

During the race, cars exiting the pits must keep all four wheels under the yellow and white lines until they exit turn two, then they can blend into race traffic. Failure to follow this procedure could result in a post-race penalty.

Behaviour on track

A few behaviour rules :

- as for all HSO races, it is required you use your real name both in-game and on the forum. Thank you.

- Chatting is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in race session. It is allowed in qualifying sessions for technical issues only.

- Drive Through : If a driver has to do a drive through, even if there is no pit lane speed limit, he has to drive through the pitlane at 100km/h max (60mph). If he doesn't respect this, he will get a 30s penalty at the end of the race.

- If you have a spin on the course, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure the track is sufficiently clear before you rejoin the race.

- If you have an accident that you cannot recover from (lost wheel), please hit escape immediately so as to minimize the chance of involving other cars.

- Respect the red light at the end of the pitlane.

Application and Interpretation of the Regulations

The admins alone are qualified to solve any problems raised by the application and the interpretation of the present regulations.

For those who are not series regulars -- now begins the work of building a race setup. It is not a simple matter of adding 75 gallons of methanol to the qualy set and turning the boost down. Ideally you need to find a compromise setup that starts with a mild push and ends mildly loose. Also, practicing in traffic this week is a must.

I have to test not only the car setup but also endurance of my ass. 2.5 hours on a chair in one position will be the main problem. Any rest will be only in the pit. But im looking forward.

Okay, so how do you actually win this thing? Turn 1, lap 1, right?

Also, at least in Texas (can't remember Trenton) a lot of people blew up their engines on the pace lap and got the starting procedure restarted. What about Mulligans here?

You can joke about it but I spent time finding a suitable cushion for my bucket seat and lowered the position of my screen to avoid racing with a sore back or neck.

A good thing with the Chevy is that there's not a lot of work to do to adapt the quali set to a race set. It's almost similar in every way

We are not going to do restarts. Everyone needs to practice getting away from the grid so they don't eff things up for others around them.

We are not going to do restarts. Everyone needs to practice getting away from the grid so they don't eff things up for others around them.
