| #40 Porsche 906 (Greg Loomis) : Free I'll take the remaining one(Simon has the one with the cool mirrors and the aero flaps at the front ), I like light cars that are nice to drive I wonder why the Guy Verrier Team is Swiss according to the information tab in rF... I can understand that Bonnier's team is Swiss as he moved to Lausanne, but Verrier? Bah, history anyway. | |

| Murray: "JUNDT'S OFF-TRACK AGAIN!" Martin: "That's a replay Murray, he's not even in the race anymore." =========================== LOL! Ok, now THAT's ^^^ funny!* [* of course, you DO have to know what Murray Walker did and what he's famous for too, to get it--fortunately I do. ] CS | |

| This track DOES incorporate a version of the very best feature of "Old Interlagos": The downhill dive into T1, then T2...and out onto the backstretch.
Niki Lauda listed this...and commented on this section as one of his "Top Ten Toughest Spots in F1 Racing" in his first book, back in 1976 (after his first of three World Driving Championships). I'm still trying to find the book here in my house (I have just misplaced it), and if I do, I plan to copy his comments about the place here verbatim. But basically, he described it as a real heart stopping spot, where you dove downhill almost on faith...and flat out in fifth gear (there were only usually only five gears in F1 cars back then--BRM being the exception to the rule...).
But maybe someone else knows his comments too? From "The Art and Science of Grand Prix Driving?" (1975) Post it and save me the trouble!

| Yep, in 1979 the track was getting extremely bumpy and with the hugely increased cornering speed due to the ground effect, lots of people were very worried about that turn 1. The car was shaking so much, the drivers couldn't see where they were going, most of them had padding in their cockpit around their helmet, to prevent their head from moving a lot. | |

Really a nice series of corners, it's the classic one where you always enter thinking you're too hot in, and exit thinking you could have gone faster through ... but next time you go faster in and end in the barriers

| Do you have any way to see if there's anyone in the server from the website, without having to open rFactor? | |

| The line is much more important than the setup here. But anyway a bit of assymetrical should help since all turns are to the left ... | |

Got that. I think I got that curver down now. Top times are beating me in sector 1, and that is now the focus.

| Gui, Ben and Antoine, Would it be possible for me to do livestream coverage of this race with Yankee English language commentary? I have been wanting to do this for a long time, and I think this may be a good opportunity to try it. Listening to Ben and Antoine call the Canadian GP really piqued my interest in this | |
