Oh, this is unfortunate. I was just looking at the entry list (for AVUS, not the general one).

Hmmm I readed that message but I didn't consider it a confirmation then, probably because he said he had technical problems scratch The drive icon :conduit: was there, so indeed he might have confirmed scratch

I will ask François to clarify, sorry guys :smil20: If he can't race, the car is for Jan.

my G29 were constantly clipping after i spun into the grass. Undriveable and not good for the wheel i think so i retired. Is there a FFB setting in AMS to reduce the FFB effects of grass, gravel or locked wheels?

That went well...

I was left scratching my head at the crash out of the first hairpin. I had damage, but avoided pitting under the safety car thinking I could hang on in the draft and counteract whatever straight line speed I lost. Turns out it wasn't enough. I saw that damage repair would cost me 75 seconds, so I elected to retire as staying out would have made me a bit of a danger with my lack of speed - I could already tell that I was being a nuisance to the guys I was racing, pulling out of the draft only to draw even and fall back.

Oh well. next round.

Great race and racing all to be spoiled by what was in my opinion a shocking move. You could try that a million times Jacob and you'd still not pull that move off. Unbelievable

what do you mean by "clipping"? vibration from flat spotting the tires? isn't that the penalty for locking the tires? turning it off would be quite the advantage. that said, maybe try slightly lower ffb settings overall. too high and i can't feel the subtle details. plus, in a real car on track, i've never had to "crank" on the wheel. all the effort and fatigue comes from trying to stabilize your body not turning the wheel.

interesting race to say the least. weird caution! so...... ever other time on hso when we have had a full course caution, the grid is frozen, and people hold position until we pick up the pace car. so when the caution came out, what was going thru the minds of the people who were full throttle past cars that were slowing down? christmas came early? even if the server allowed it, is that how you want to pass people? we aren't here for money, lets use some common sense and try to avoid such dangerous (and not really sporting) situations. everyone's responsibility, for everyone's benefit. sorry, rant over.

had a lot of fun in the race. changing positions every lap, no possibility to break away, just drafting dog fight for the whole race. got lucky at the end, right place, right time. till the next one!

best,
dave

Took it easy, did not qualify and started last, after turn 1 was already 15 th lol! but hit one of the cars that was rolling on the track after the turn 1 accident and damaged my front bumper. Car lost loads of top speed (From all the tracks, had to be this one  ) and understeered badly at turn 2, so I just cruised around fighting with whoever was on my pace. In the end survived and finished 15th, not bad for a race I had no hopes for.

Cant really say much. I had high hopes for the race, especially at the start.

Qualifying was good, but I could never catch DJ and Grant's times. So 3rd it was.
The start saw me pull a move that would make people wonder whether I had or had not put in some kind of launch control. (Actually, it was just perfect clutch slipping)
So, the engine started smoking and I had to back off. Then the crash at the Südkehre happened. I had to back out of the wreckage because I was caught in it. So I was 21st.

Restart was...meh. Timo decided to keep a healthy distance between himself and the car in front of him, plus once or twice randomly brake-checking me didn't really cheer me up. The restart was weird. He got away so badly that I had to almost spin in order not to crash him out.

So, later caught up to Dave Miller and Juha. Spun while trying to overtake them in the south turn.
Then I had a big shunt with Ray approaching the right turn before the Nordkurve. I can't say whose fault it was, but I had the impression of being ahead.
However, that basically damaged my car so badly I couldn't keep it up to speed so I finished 12th when I expected to finish probably on the podium or just the top 8.

As with the caution, I can only second DJ's post. I didn't expect the order to be open until the S/F line, but god dammit guys, it was still a  Full-Course Caution!

Anyways, see you at Riverside.

The caution was a really weird thing. At first I thought we had done something wrong and kept the server with the CART settings but nope, it is something that simply is in all mods by default. If the accident is big enough, the SC goes out, and as per EU road courses you race to the line. We just managed to do something very rarely seen ... we brought the SC out on a normal road course  Shocked

So still not sure about what happened on lap 1 coming out of turn 2 I'm as low as possible and a car comes accross the nose of my car....Not sure if I was drifting right or you were drifting left or both....but not the way I wanted it to end. Sorry to everyone in that mess I was trying to escape it wouldn't let me till I was completely stopped. Great Job to Jaques and the front runners. :drink:
