So explain to me why you couldn’t address this concern via PM and in a timely fashion. Oh that’s right, the league revolves around your schedule. I forgot. If we update the track, and people complain about having to change setups, we will send them your way for an explanation.
I had already PM'd another admin but they didn't respond.
Watkins Glen has been in nearly every sim since the mid 1990's and I've been running more or less the same car setup for the past three races. I was perfectly fine waiting until tonight to turn my first laps. There is no need to practice days upon days for an event unless it's the start of a season and you've never driven the car before.
If anyone complains about having to make setup adjustments at any given time, sim racing probably isn't for them. The garage area is 50% of the game.

If your PM was presented as it was here, the other PM probably didn't feel it deserved a response.
And if you didn't bother to try the version of the track as presented for this race in this series, then you're not nearly as smart as you think you are. Sounds to me more like unadulterated arrogance.
So far, the only one I've seen complain making setups at any given time is you!

Please download the following TDF patch for race day; it corrects a grip inconsistency on the racing line. You can direct any concerns about setup revision to Austin Ogonoski.

I would like to point out to everyone a couple of things.
1) The only reason we are adopting the change Austin recommends at this late hour is because the flaw in the track is genuine, and we are committed to running the best, highest quality event we possibly can.
2) Any concerns about the tracks the series runs or the way the series is being run in general MUST be raised via PM with an admin, NOT on the public forum. This also applies to post-race protests.

Yes in solo lapping you can memorize where the grip strips are, but in a pack of cars or when overtaking this is going to cause an absurd amount of spins that were no fault of any drivers involved because the change in grip is that massive.
Austin, you are missing the fact that a fair number of drivers (with me on top ) are not able to repeat same racing line twice in ten laps (or more) which obviously puts us in advance of the rest of the pro-racers.. which is acctually ok, right??

Just a note to anyone having an issue with the track or anything. PM the series admin. So if it's CanAm, Jason. If it's F1, myself.
That way you have the better chance of getting the best response.

There is only one admin in your time zone, and he is also the series admin. Those were two very obvious reasons why you should have sent Jason your PM, and not someone else.
It is clear to me that Jason is not your preferred admin of choice, but that does not justify you sending a PM to someone else who likely won't respond and then feeling entitled to do a PRC rant in the forum. As you can see by his reaction, he might feel pissed off by your manners but is honest enough to recognize a flaw and solve it ASAP, so there is absolutely no reason to bypass him and contact first anyone else.
From the thousands of ways there are to say the same thing, for some reason you tend to pick the most abrasive and useless one.

Thanks for sorting it out anyway. I couldn't understand why my car kept swapping ends in certain places despite trying to work against it. Lack of talent from my part probably contributed towards it too.

Just tried my setup after the tdf update and it is no longer any good,so looks like everybody is going to have change setups just for one person,i cannot be bothered altering mine at this late stage so i wont last long in this race.

I don’t like this situation either, but for what it is worth, we did not make this change for one person’s benefit, rather everyone’s. The defect that existed could easily catch someone out during the race, and we can’t in good conscience leave that defect there once it has been exposed.

You have to look at the situation from another angle. Imagine that rain showers cleared the track just prior to the race. Or, some lesser classes had some major incidents and oil is all over the place. Or, your cheef engeneer suddenly got ill (too much cheap beer Id say), and cant make it to the race..
make fun of it as much as you can.. its that inpredictable chaotic situation that occures on every event, from kindergarden parents show, to large races or aero-shows!!!

Awesome, just hours before the race you come up with the smart idea to change the track. One week of work for the litter, because the whole thing is off now.
Next time I join the server minutes before the race and ask if someone's got a setup for me.
