In other words I've been doing it right, the car just lacks some speed and I clearly lack practice so far... :aie:

Time to get driving :hihi:

Hi guys. Today I was running on the server testing the Modena. I think I won't be able to run, but I would like  make some tests in Estoril if you don't mind.

I would like to ask you what is the pace of the Modena with full tank and A hard tires (race pace). I was able tu run in 28's, only setting the gearbox and lowering the car, even it would be welcome any advice on the setup.

Thanks in advance :D

i tried that car (along with a few others) offline today. it looks good, sounds good but its really slow, mainly due to being crap in corners. was doing 22s on a rough quali setup.

The best lap i've done with this configs it was something into 27s (mid-high) with the default setup. 24s with 50L, hard tyres (not the qualyfing) and also with default set. Like Sky said, the sound it's eargasmic, but the car it's not that good. But, for me, it's really fun to drive it. Smile

Wow I forgot how intense this mod is.

In qualifying it is a bad idea to enter the track if you see a lot of cars ahead of you. There is LOTs of time to do your 12 laps. You have basically got 4 shots per session. 1 out lap, 1 hot lap and 1 in lap. People on their out laps will be going slow so take that into account when you practice. Greg was masterful at dodging people in his way during qualifying when we ran a few years back.

Oh my goodness, looking at the hotlaps, I hope in the race the Williams drivers suffer from the poor reliability of the sequential gearbox lol! lol! (Just kidding hehe but I'm still surprised that I'm a second slower than you)

Sacrificing a small furry rodent prior to each qual attempt seems to help lol!

Prayer sometimes helps

Keep dropping the rear shocks slightly until you can hammer down on the throttle while exiting corners. Front wheels will lock up a bit on a proper race setup with full fuel but will stop once the weight transfer evens out with fuel burn off.

Ride height seems to be one of the biggest killers of downforce. The fast guys 2 seasons ago shot sparks out from under their cars at high speeds so I assumed they kept it LOW LOW LOW in the back. That helped me a lot as we got to season end.

More prayer helps.

That's good advice from Mike; that's where I am losing all of my time, exiting corners and not being able to lay down the power as quick as I want.  I'll try fiddling with the rear shocks this evening.

Just be aware. If you go too low on the ride height the car will bottom out, potentially through a corner and you will lose all grip.

If you want tips, read the physics guide, located in the vehicles folder. It will advise you on setup, optimum tire temps, how to use the engines. Give it a good read.

still today its a headache maker to find the proper setup

the stock setups are made by duke but as you guys know im with the pad and created tonns of setup which are lost now for the team , with a pad you only want stable cars and there 2 ways to do it

super hard springs with very low bottom space and adjusted rollbars
or super soft springs with higher bottom space and adjusted rollbars

also crazy camber settins like -3.0 is deadyl like some mods shows and far from realistic

back in the days when i was fully deticated to this sim and develop the mod i used moteq tonns of readouts send over and over again to duke what each car does etc etc

but as for some cars a soft suspension is very bad to use cause there chassis is very soft itself to simulate poorer cars like the modena ags

im doing it now with the ferrari and get around same times but the ferrari is very sensitive to hard suspension setups and low fuel causing porpoising which it did in real Wink
on heavy load its much nicer to handle , sound crazy lol but it was a hard car to drive.

the most insteresting part is the race setup , which only this mod has, pick the the right tire compound choice most suited for a track, during the race read the fuel usage adjust the boost fuel mixture and change the brake bias during the race risking blown brakes disks!

all i can say is reading the times in hotlaps the williams is about 2.0 sec off its capable pace.....

good luck with mind cracking and tonns of hours driving testing hours

gotdamn lol!
just turn up the volume and you go quick already!
