| That's a shame Michal. In that uncompetitive car you still lapped 5/10 faster than me, and I finished 9th tonight. | |

| Sign me up to drive #59 please. If still available. This was a tough decision. The season is winding down , yeah there are still a good number of races but the Indy 500 has come and gone. I may have been better off waiting for one-off drives, in the short term that would be a smart move. But it appears that the intent of this league is to assign drivers to teams if they plan on doing a majority of the races. I'll also have a better shot of moving up to a more competitive ride or at least a newer chassis.
I've looked at the race results and see that the 70 Eagle has had some good finishes. But those were with established HSO drivers. It'll be tougher for a "rookie".
I think I understand the rules. I could switch to a one-off drive but I would lose the #59 drive and would again be amongst the drivers on the waiting list.
And I can see that there will be setup help.
I have no clue as to PEP gas treatment. (The major sponsor on this car). There was obviously big money to be made and plenty of dollars came to teams from STP and Rislone. But I don't remember PEP.

| Yes you can get better cars as one-offs but if you plan to do the whole season it is a good idea to join as regular. Any vacant regular ride will be offered to you first. Also, not at all races will there be one -offs or at least competitive ones. At the 500 milers there are more cars available but not so at the others.
That said, next race there will be some very good cars available, so maybe you can wait one race more and get a better ride at Pocono, then come back for the Eagle 70. Besides some powerful cars, the Smokey Yunnick Eagle will be available for Pocono and while not powerful, it is a delight to drive, especially on a long race.

| Thanks for the reply Alberto After many years in a different highly competitive league I've come to the conclusion that for that software (GPL) a more competitive car is usually a waste of time for me. I just don't have the skills to wring the last bit of speed out of a sim race car. Possibly I'm better on ovals than road courses. But I'm still low on the learning curve with the Champ Car. Not that I'd pass up the chance to race a 73 eagle full time, but now I've got a good excuse for being slow(er). Less pressure, more fun.

| While you wait for a full season car, you can also check the race threads and pick the one-off extra cars. Next race at Pocono there will be several extra ones available, the thread will go up next week | |
