Merry Christmas to Jon Smile

I was concentrating on driving to the pits with no wing I failed to notice the race was ending the next lap

Oh my goodness.

Never mind where I finished that was a 29 lap hammer and blade battle. Lorenzo and Greg drove incredibly well. It was great to be able to run so close, trade some paint and really give each other a run for our money.

I would happily do that all over again... in a TS11... with a Morand V8 in it Smile Smile

Oscar.

Too bad there's not another open event with this mod. I would love to try the Fat Lola, because I'm almost certain that the Crossle should have 1*, not 2 :rigol:

What can i say? It's been a while since i had such a close battle! Maybe since Bathurst with Martin Wink

Nevermind where i finished after the 1st chaotic leg, the 2nd one was awesome racing with Oscar and Greg, loved every second of it :top:

Sorry Tiago for the 2nd start, I think we both tried to go for the same gap, and me using driver cam didn't see it, glad we were able to continue Smile

These cars are really fun, reminds me of my time driving 1979 in the ALT championship, often being on the edge with the car.

Okay, well! Where do I start!

Race 1

I got an amazing start in the first race, after qualifying myself into 8th (very pleased of that, getting a PB in quali) I got into 5th position. After becoming the Trulli train and holding up most of the people behind me I started getting passed, firstly by lapped cars and then for position. Not being all too confident in these cars, I didn't put up much of a fight and let the faster cars pass without much fuss. I was just focused on getting into my 'happy place' and getting consistent lap after lap. I was worrying about fuel - as I thought the race would be a 1 stopper as rFactor's unreliable calculator told me a full tank did 57 laps. I had under fueled because of this.

Eventually I dropped to 9th - after Lorenzo passed me, and when Philippe Martinelli was coming up behind me the server problems started.

Race 2

In the restart, again, I had an amazing start and pulled myself up to 5th, from 7th. With fuel not an issue this time, again, after the pack started spreading out I started dropping back and began battling with Philippe again. On Lap 5 or 6 I ran wide into the chicane, and with poor Philippe behind me - I smashed into the red tire barriers and Philippe ran into the back of me.

I'm so sorry Philippe. I dropped the ball and you paid the price as well as me. You have every right to be annoyed at me for messing up and ruining your race. Embarassed Me and Philippe were racing a time trial event as we were both a lap down. I had to drive a car with a large amount of suspension damage which was tricky to close the gap! :aie:

Towards the last 3 or 4 laps, everyone seemed to be feeling the pain. I had moved up to 10th due to others spinning off, and poor Mike Becnel pitted in to repair damage on the final lap, so I passed him for 9th across the checkered flag. Lucky for me!

A great race altogether, despite my childish mistake. I'd like to think that I could have kept the car on the road in race 1, but fuel problems meant I would have dropped back anyway. What happens happens.

I'd like to take a moment to congratulate the top 3!

I heard you were wheel to wheel almost the whole race!! And those qualifying times too? My god. Great job guys. Smile

I was going to apologize myself for it, since my car slipped a bit too much and swerved left; had some damage, but nothing serious. I'm glad you had fun nonetheless :top:

The result file from race 1 is wrong because of the server crash, but race 2 is ok, results are on the website. We will try to fix that.

:first: :first: :first: :first:

:conduit:

Well done Lorenzo and Oscar , was an incredible and so close fight

Let me assure both oh you that I believe you had 70% of the track covered as I came through the David Tiago bread wanna-be-Mike sandwhich. That was a tad exciting!

I was searching for some spicy pepper to put on the sandwich when I dropped it to the left side and I had to search for it in the tall grass.

Yep, makes perfect sense. Like this:

:banane:

:hihi:
