F1 1991 Fun race @ Hockenheim [Sept 2nd]

I had it but, in a stroke of utter boneheadedness, deleted it. I saw myself slide up and punt Martin's RF wheel with my LR wheel on cold tires. I must have been in evidence cleansing mode and hit delete.

well, i think its Lewis' Fault.

Rfactor automatically deletes the oldest replays after the 6th was saved at the same circuit unless you rename them

OH YES... THAT moment. I didn't drive since Spa and somehow f*cked up, not to mention the position graphic blocked the view underneath the mirrors of the t-cam view, so I tried to screw myself rather than anybody else

we couldve raced at oran park. Mike you missed your task

now question: when i use guis setup the car works a lot. its maybe historical correct. i wanted more grip so i softenend the springs 2 clicks rear 3 front so it has same balance and eased the ARBs.

now the car works more has grip is undrivable.

then i went to stiffen the springs. the car is MUCH more driveable but: the car wont turn anymore, despite the relation of the spring rates is the same. usually, like in any sim it would work. anyone has an idea why the front grip is out?
and will damper take away much grip? the car swings all day long at the fast chicane before the finish.

Jens I haven't played the mod besides some laps, but if the physics are somewhere in the line of what a real F1 is, then you need to first of all set wings and rake and then work on suspension with the objective of controlling pitch and roll in benefit of the aerodynamics. It is in any case not unusual that you feel a lack of turn-in grip at slow speeds in cars with huge aero load like these. Suspension adjustments will only be noticeable in very slow turns, at medium-high speeds it's aero that governs the car.

The receipe that usually works well with a swinging car that is not touching the ground with the bottom (i.e. riding too low or on too soft springs) is: Softer springs, harder anti-roll bars. Lastly, you can increase the front damper slow rebound, so that the car will not unload the front at turn-in.
