hi!

I am new in touring car racing and just want to know how to set the car for qualy and race. I´ll drive the 6-gear BMW M3. The most important thing is how to set RPM Limit, which tyres etc. ?

Thanks!
Jan

The engines are optimized for long distance racing it seems, so I found them very forgiving for the DTM sprints. I think I'm allowing the car the maximum rpm most of the time.
I did most of last year on soft tires, but in the latter races I switched to mediums and it was much better. Just a little slower but I can clock the same time all race long, whereas the softs just fade away progressively.

I tested different steering lock values, but I worry about the tyre temperatures. What values are critical for the tyres according to the tyre wear for full race distance (16 Laps here at Nürburgring)?

Well at Hockenheim, if I remember correctly, my left front tyre sometimes went up to 125°C. The car was understeery but still very driveable.

Better bet on Mediums. Much more consistent

In the case of the Sierra better bet on hards lol!

On mediums in race. But Hockenheim really eats the tires, I think the only other track like this will be the Hungaroring.
