I will be unable to drive Sunday due to real life issues.

Frank will be administering the race. If you need anything urgent in the next few days contact Frank.

No, nothing Coronavirus related! lol!

I always thought that Detroit was a shitty circuit, when I played Grand Prix by Accolade in early 90s. Well, I had no idea back then. Nooo idea :aie: There's zero chance I'll finish the race, especially without a reverse gear. But nevermind, there will be another race in USA at that time, as Indycar Series kicks off the 2020 season at St. Pete. I can't wait! Cool

Do not worry... you will not be alone Suspect
65 laps of constant nightmare, not to mention spins, accidents and everything you can imagine...ahead of you.
I felt an earthquake of 5.3 last Saturday, but...just kidding: I think the Detroit walls will unnerv me more.

I am away for about a week or so. Frank Verplanken can confirm once you pick one of the two open cars. Go to the entry list here and choose one of the open cars:

I managed to survive Monaco last week, now Detroit and Canada next week.
I think there is a lot of concentration and pain (sciatic nerve) that will come ahead.

I guess I should practice more, so that I stay in the race longer. With WEC at Sebring cancelled and McLaren withdrawing from Australian F1 Grand Prix, I'd be surprised if they don't cancel the Indycar race at St. Pete, too. Crying or Very sad

I have always liked this track for some reason, the triple left opening the back straight is pretty awesome for instance, and I love the overall pace of the layout. I could do without the silly chicane in the pit straight though Rolling Eyes.

The track produced some great races in real life, the 1985 edition is one of the best F1 races I remember watching. Hopefully our race will be a thriller as well :D.

Needless to say this is the type of track where starts and overtaking attempts must be executed flawlessly to avoid any type of massive mayhem, so be sure we will be looking closely at track behavior on this one Twisted Evil

Oui c'est peut-être pas le circuit idéal pour débuter avec ce mod. Tu peux quand même réserver une des voitures libres si tu veux, pas grave si tu fais pas Detroit - au moins tu es sûr d'en avoir une pour la prochaine course Wink.

yeah...it is strange but I also like this so much and in rF2 the feeling is fantastic, pushing hard on brake when the rear start travelling its own way right before the apex of the first right hander, then the second right hander where you go for contra so early...uuaahhh...once you make this for the rfirst time during flying lap in quali trim...hhhmuuuuaaaah :D

Yes so rewarding when you nail a clean one ! Gotta love the manhole covers as well :D ! One of the good things about modern sims is we finally get rough surfaces for old tracks, not the usual laser smooth thingies.

One bad thing about modern sims though is setups. Default ones are often silly at best, and setup sharing is scarce... I have put my Rebaque setup one the HSO site. Feel free to use our setup interface to upload setups for this or other mods by the way Wink.

I just realized it will be very hard for the winner to cover the 65 laps in under 2 hours : it would take a 1:50 flat average for each lap, standing start and eventual pitstops included. The 2-hour max limit for the duration of F1 races was already in place back then, so the race server will be set accordingly : race will be over after 65 laps or 2 hours, whichever comes first.

If you want the #30 Arrows, you need to say so in the dedicated thread. Can you please edit your profile name to have it the other way around (first name / surname) ? Thanks.
