I don't think the DRMs are yet up to AMS standards....but the Cart 98 mod is.  I grabbed that one up as soon as I had AMS running a little over a month ago.

It's as great as it ever was, and even better now with the AMS features included.
Can't wait for the limited tire sets options that should be coming with the new build sometime start of next year (so I hear)...

The 1974 Porsche 911 RSR 3.0 is a hoot as well.  Both converted to AMS standards by the same guy.
Matter of fact, 80% or more of the good mod content I've found (both tracks and cars...especially tracks though) have come from him.  Patrick Girathon (not sure on spelling) but you'll find him over at RD.
He's even worked with the guys at Reiza a bit.

Massive amount of content from him...not sure where he finds the time to do all that :O

Here's the Porsche, if you're interested. It's a blast, in my opinion. I've spent a lot of time in it lately, just plowing around various courses alone.

There's also a mod for the Formula Classics (it does NOT overwrite your stock content, it creates a new set of cars and you can select from the menu...very handy) that has all the 91 skins and performance variations for each car.

I've toyed around with it a bit....but I'm yet to do a full race to see how well the performance variations are done. Chatter says there are pretty good, but I'd have to try to know for sure.

Of course, with the new updates to the sim (boost options) this isn't updated for that yet...but it's a bit cooler running around with the proper skins rather than the base content skins.

And if you open the files, you can choose whether to install the performance variations and the skins, or just the skins, or whatever you want...but like I said, it doesn't overwrite stock content so it's just another set of cars in the garage if you want em.

I grabbed them because of the 91 mod we are running here (superior in every way to the Reiza "Formula Classics" in my opinion)
I'd go as far as to say the F1 91 mod that is run here is just about one of the best mods I've ever seen, if not THE best.

It's superb, and nothing gives me the rush that trying to whip one of those bad boys around at hotlap pace gives me. Nothing feels as "real" as those cars to me.
I hop out of those cars, hop into a real world video...I watch the inputs, the movements of the various cars on track, the reactions of the driver....and I think, DAMN....the mod we run is SO good.

Honestly, even as much time as I've spent in it...I'm STILL in awe of how true to life those things are.
Such a challenge.

Would really love to see the mod in AMS standards....the particular one used here. That would be golden. Beyond golden...that would be a little patch of heaven Smile

I'd wait for all of the turbo car mods to be updated to the new turbo model. I tried the F'Classics 1988 Skinpack and half the cars didn't even load. Plus, it felt like they had 50000 HP under the new turbo model.

Wait for what? I've had the 91 skins and performance variations mod (which creates a separate group of cars to choose from in the menu...so it's not like it can't be changed very easily in the future) for a while now.

I haven't even seen the 88 skin pack and stuff like cars not loading, bugs, etc is why I don't bother with mods outside certain channels I trust, and people I trust. There's so much bunk content out there that is lazily done, it ridiculous.
I'm not the type to just apply mods because they sound like they'd be cool. I research every single one (probably to the point of obsessively) before I apply it. lol

So it was just a 88s skin pack? That shouldn't have a bit of effect on the cars besides the skins. Not sure why they'd feel that way. And I'm doubting any of these mods have been updated with the new turbo model stuff. If it claims it is, I'd argue it's lazily done. No one creates good mod content in a few days. lol

The 91 skin & performance mod was updated this weekend to utilize the turbo I believe. All teams use same model and performance diff. Is achieved by running variations in engine files. The last update broke a few mods so that might be what is going on with the 88's. Agree with Jason is a lot of quick conversions out there that don't include arms update features so you really have to research.
I'm pretty sure some members from the 91 mod are working on bringing it over.

I'm just saying, since it happened to me on the '88 skin pack (being a hardcore history fan, I wanted the 88 cars rather than the 91)

I'd personally wait a week or two for updates for all kinds of mods - how about the CART Extreme Mod? This one should have the new turbo model too, right? Or has it been updated already?

If I have time tonight I'll start a thread at the sister site with info regarding mods and how they are feature wise to help those new figure out what to try. I've been with AMS since the beginning even racing in leagues before I came to HSO, am fairly familiar with the mods available.

Apologies for any false information about the 88 mod. Been updated yesterday. http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/formula-classic-1988-skins-performance-reliability-ams.10033/

Couldn't remember for certain if he did the 88 as Well, Guess he did. I think all that was done was updated the engine files to use the turbo features, But I believe all have same turbo performance. I'll have to dbl check the engine files though

I just tested that update and... 4.00 boost? Still feels like 10 000 HP in the McLaren at least.. Once the boost kicks in, that thing is up to 200 mph in no time at all even with high downforce wings..

He added 4.0 bar of boost like Niels had in his talk and drive video, the real car only had 1.5 bar of boost allowed. You can select the multiplayer version and you will have the correct skins and correct engine boost.

Will the 1971 season use a group system (like 1991 season) or do we have nearly equal cars? Too curious for the new season and physics lol!

No it's not available yet.

Installing mods in AMS is the same as installing them in rfactor. You just extract them to your AMS install.

Avec Rfactor j'ai une installation pour chaque mod, avec AMS ce n'est pas le cas?

Tous les mod se trouvent sur la même installation?

Yes, all mods are on the same install. AMS is better designed to deal with them all.
