I looked at that mod, and it's like it's a F1 mod from the 80's with lowres CART skins on it. Maybe someone will enjoy these on road courses, but it's useless on ovals, since there aren't the wings for it.

Yeah those look like ripped F1s, nothing to do with the real shape of the 1986 champ cars. Neutral

Too bad but it wouldn't be a big big problem for me if the physics/sounds/skins were great, after all the cars looked a bit alike (the 1985 RAM is a good choice I think).

In 1985 you had mainly two different Indycars on track (Plus testimonial version of previous year's March and the Eagle), so I don't think it should be that hard to model those. And I would really like to see such a mod  Smile What about starting with that Alessio? :hihi:

I have been looking for 1985 March schematics, no luck so far.

I know they have lots of ressource online, including official factory documentation and so forth, but if they don't have what you are looking for online you can always try and drop them an e-mail you never know Wink

Yes 2.65-litres turbocharged engines Wink Dale Coyne used a stock-block atmo Chevy V8 iirc but all the others had turbocharged engines - mostly Cosworth DFX, but also the first in a great line of V8 Chevrolet Ilmor engines and also the odd V6 Buick and V8 Judd too.

Instead making a patch-up job, it will be better to do a great model from scratch Smile Why?

Because we can do everything when we can model and there are less and less from scratch modeller Wink

I can't access the thread, I'm not registered in that forum. Were the physics done purposedly for the mod, or ripped from an F1 mod?

Cosworth all the way!

Or rather, just a few Buick's, Coyne's stock block, and the Eagle-Chevrolets I'm not really sure about what config they were in. The Ilmor-Chevrolet and Judd-Honda projects started in 1986.

I have 1988 March, Penske and Lola model drawings if there is ever the time to get around to making 3d models.
