| Hi fellow simracers We were wondering if there would be enough interest among our members for us to include the presence of teams within HSO. The concept we are thinking of would include a dozen teams, with a limited number of drivers per team and a Team Manager having the responsibility of each team (recruiting, interaction with HSO admins, ...etc.). If it wishes so, a team could have its dedicated private sub-forum at HSO to discuss team matters such as sharing setups, driving tips, setting up collective training sessions and so on. Teams could be newly created ones especially for the occasion, but we would also allow teams already existing and racing in other leagues to join us. However, any team wanting to join would have to meet the HSO standards regarding its name/logo/colours, i.e. have an historic flavour to it and most of all be on the classy side of taste - 'humorous' team names such "Beer Loving Simracers" or "Soggy Bottom Laggers" would be discarded, as would any team that would come up with eye-hurting logos/colours. The good sides to having teams are numerous, but as we all know from our racing experience in other leagues it has its bad sides too. Excessive partisianism or unsportsmanlike team strategies are among the most obvious flaws to such systems, but it is our belief that we can avoid such problems given the fact that the overwhelming majority of our members are thorough gentlemen drivers . And in any case if this project goes on, the slighest bit of misconduct will be dealt with swiftly and will result in the banning of the incriminated teams and/or drivers . To help promote a sane and competitive team spirit we would also create a yearly competition for the teams, one taking into account all the race results of the HSO season, most likely along the lines of our newly created HSO Gold Star, i.e. with a sliding points scale depending on the importance of the race. Several graphic add-ons can also be added to the field of cars we run, anything from a distinctive helmet design for each team to a full custom skin depending on the series. Please also note that if we ever go forward with this, being part of a team would not be mandatory and those not wanting to join a team won't have to. Similarly, the presence of teams would not in any way modifiy car selection for the drivers - no team or its members would be restricted to a particular class or model of cars. So, please give us your thoughts on this and vote in the poll. If there is enough interest we will go forward with the project and will draft a submission form for those wishing to submit a candidate team. Thank you.

| Teams can be interesting to learn about setups and overall race strategy. It would be a nice addition to the leagues you guys promote.
I am curious though, the team manager can be one of the drivers too? Does it really need to be, or he can be just someone who never takes part in races, but focusing only in the visual aspect of things? (creating skins, logos, etc) ? | |

| Yes the TM can be a driver in his own team too. But he doesn't have to be a driver if doesn't want to either, and can only focus on the TM duties if he wants . | |

| I don't think there will be custom skins, or maybe limited to some championships like Caterham we had last year. If we have custom skins, I think we should do a trip to Nice to see if it's really Frank behind this account. | |

| I'd be willing to go if it's to paint "F1 Sux" or "Bernie Go Home" on the track the night before the race ! Like Martin said there will of course never be any custom skins for our regular championships and Opens, as they would be nothing short of a blasphemy, but we might allow them for series similar to the Caterham Cup of 2013 (which I administrated so you see I'm not such an integrist after all ). We might also do a special event or mini-series for those teams only, in which custom skins will be allowed and even encouraged. | |

| In my case I'm allready a long-time member of a Sim-Racing Team (Optimum SimRacing), of which 2 mates could be seen driving with me at Bathurst in the HSO Bathurst 1000 a few weeks ago I know that both me and Dave has raced here before (the BTCC '88 championship) and Jonathan enjoyed himself overall and Maté has also found his way here so... If it does come to fruition, we might consider coming over here with all members if they would want to For now, let's see what happens and let's continue to have fun, that's the main part of what we're doing after all (in my view) | |
