I received several complains about this. Do not exit the pitlane flat-out, stop at the end of the pitlane, check if the track is empty and then go out, while staying on the right of the road. At the end of the session please post on the forum the name of the driver who will start the race. | |

| Guillaume: IMO the safer way is to cross the raceline and run around the outside line through T1 until up to speed. The fastest cars are going to use the right lane at the apex of T1 and may carry around a fair way past that too still staying to the right before coming back left for the apex of T2. Running slow in the right lane just gets in the way...at least the way I see it. Ideally, people will, as you say, wait for oncoming traffic to come past before going out in the first place, but some people do charge out without looking <sigh>. For the benefit of anyone who may not already know, pressing BOTH "look keys" or wheelbuttons (look right/look left) at the same time will let you look behind, and that SHOULD show you any cars that are coming out of the last corner and past the S/F line. It's also worth taking the time to aim the mirrors properly (but please, not during qualifying!). ---- As to naming the driver who will start, in our case we may not decide that until later in the evening (my teammate is working this weekend, which complicates matters for us). Can we change this early Sunday AM if need be or do you need to have this decided by a certain hour (presumably to set the grid)? Sorry for complicating things.... [Please translate and repost as you see fit, thanks] CS | |

That's the problem, crossing the track is never safe, especialy with cars coming fast behind you. As you said, ideally people will wait and never get in the way, but in case that happens, the driver in his flying lap will go round the outside. His lap will be destroyed, but at least there will no crash. As to naming the driver, all I need is to know who will start the race, can be one hour before the start, no problem | |

| Ok, that's good, thanks. In our case, it may literally come down to that last hour, as my teammate has to drive his stint and then spend a full day at work (while I take over to the end). It's likely, therefore likely to be him taking the start, but we still aren't entirely sure I suspect we will decide it later tonight (US time) and I will certainly post it once we do. The biggest cars (not sure about that flying fast 312P) will use the entire width of the road through T2 and T3 both, and if a slower car is in front there, the big car will just have to accept that the lap is ruined...but that's multi-class racing of course too, and that's why we put five classes into the mods in the first place. At least there are no VW busses out there! CS | |
