| Well what a dissapointment after so much training Made a slow but clean start and was going all the time completely straight to prevent hitting or being hit if waving, when suddenly someone else's accident pushed the car who was to my left, and that one in turn throwed me against the wall. Broken suspension, wheel gone, retirement. Oh well, that's racing. Hope the rest had fun tonight | |

| Wow, this finished fast. Found Tiago suddenly standind still at the start (don´t know if it was a previous accident or a bad start) and simply couldn´t avoid ramming him full throttle. Sorry for that, but it happened so suddenly...managed to limp to the pits but it was clear my car was badly damaged so no point risking another accident. | |

| well, tonite when i got home, i was surfing on HSO and realized there was a F1 1979 race. I didn't have the mod installed cause i've never had played it before. So i did install it, went to the server when no one was here and tried it . That's how i starded last (16th) on the grid. Hopefully, i knew the track. I had a good start even if i took a car flying in my face but dont ask me why, no damages on my car. I overtook two or three cars and got behind jan, but never close enough to try anything. Always, 10 sec. I then made a mistake so he got away and i never saw him again. From here, it was a lonely race, the guy behind was 25 sec away. I made a final mistake but i was already the last in the ranking so i could pit to change tires and make e bit of repair. But 5 lasts laps were very long with a car turning left on its own. But i got to the checked flag ! 1st time ever on the mod, last on the grid, finished 7th I'm happy although i know lots of drivers lost everything at the 1st chicane. I'll be back on this mod. ps: 54 laps when you are alone is so long | |

| What's all that crap on your screen Steve mate? Nascar tacho and other pesh? Where did you get it? Had a great race with Carl for a long while in the beginning. He was a few tenths quicker in the corners, but Ferrari power made sure I stayed in front. We swapped positions a few times, mostly due to small driver errors and heavy cars. After a while I had a massive slide going into the chicane (although that particular lap ended up being one of my fastest that far, go figure) and apparently Carl panicked and spun. The gap grew to about 10 seconds and the race became very boring. Extremely boring... so boring I nodded off at the 2nd left hander at the end of the lap and went timbering. Spun 15 times through the forest and was slightly concerned I would ge a black flag for going in the wrong direction. Found my way out of Amazonas and back on to the track only to find Carl in my mirrors again. After that wake-up call, I just went for it. Pushed like mad until the end. Congrats Greg and Carlo, and especially Laurent for finishing his first ever full distance race with this mod! Well done. PS: Laurent, repairs on cars don't work very well with this mod. The time lost in the pits doing absolutely nothing is greater than just staying on the track. If you lose a wheel, that's it. They will never replace it etc. They might replace a wing but it will still be broken after. Oh and make sure you have a key mapped for the ignition and starter motor, in case you do have to pit for other reasons. Engines overheat quickly so it is best to turn it off while having a coffee break in the pits. | |

ps: 54 laps when you are alone is so long If you get susp damage it's better not to pit as your crew doesn't repair it, if you lose a wheel it's better to quit for the same reason (unless you are on the very last lap) Well it was pretty fun out there I got a decent start but Greg passed me as usual, we had part 2 of the Silverstone race with a lot of position changes, maybe even better because we raced side by side for a lot of consecutive corners Unfortunately i had set up the Arrows too oversteery with no wings at all, and at midrace the rears starting to wear out and the car became touchy exiting the corners With 5 laps to go i made a little mistake at the chicane and it was fatal, i lost a full second and his slipstream, so i pushed as hard as i could , made the fastest lap of the race on the penultimate lap but lost it one corner later, again at the chicane I would have never expected to clinch the title with 4 to go at the beginning of the season | |

| I Really enjoyed that race started 4th briefly managed to get into 3rd after the chaotic start ... I Made a small error and Kimmo got past me i sat on his rear wing for some 20 laps we exchanged places a couple of times which was all good clean racing i really tried to pressure him into making a mistake i think i was a little quicker at the start of the race maybe the lighter cosworth was at an advantage.... Eventually he slid wide in the chicane and then i started to go sideways i think i just panicked for a split second as i did not want to hit him so i lost about 10 seconds ....I then Lost a little motivation i could see Roman was not closing but Kimmo was pulling away so tried not to push the car and concnetrate on bringing the Ligier home ..... Some laps later i see Kimmo had spun so i started to push again but by this time he was a lot quicker than me and i could do nothing but watch him drive into the distance even though i was getting into the 1:34:s Kimmo just left me behind .... Well Done Greg for the win , Carlo and Kimmo for the Podium and congrats all finishers .... Special mention for Laurent well done mate | |

| I'm interested to watch the server replay of the start, because my local replay doesn't make sense at all. Steve, I'm sorry if me making an aggressive start for once (I was so sick and tired of holding back and losing positions at the start because of people in front of me just not "going" on green in these races) made things worse for you. Even though numbers have dwindled, there's still only a handfull of people consistently making good starts. Practise this people, please. It's not that hard: give it some revs, look for the lights to change, pop the clutch and feather the trottle to control the wheelspin. Even a slowpoke like me can do it.

grats all finishers | |
