BMW M1 1979/80 Procar mod _WIP

i gave up and my 3dsimed has expired now as well ....

Also ive never been able to get the Le Mans Type fuel filler to show up ingame ...

Is the correct line for the fuel filler to show up ingame but for some reason
i cant get it to show up this could also be something that may need to be
changed in 3dsimed or it could be something to do with the Alpha layers in the template
something again i dont really understand .....

It worked in GTR2 but not in Rfactor ....

I actually feel a bit bad about this as the car looks wonderful, butI'd like to point out you've used a modern Castrol logo. Although I do admit that searching for period-correct logos can be a pain in the arse - in this case too, as the font's been fairly similar since the 60s

OK guys i have change some things
- wrong Mercer name
- wrong castrol logo and RED colour of the car
- WSC logo different size on right and left
- ----
I hope not to forget other things...

Carl about the windows, it is more difficoult for me ... i cant help you, but in 3dsimedt the front banner material are "wcextra1" instead the lateral windows are named "m1testwin_old" or "m1testwin" and not EXTRA1 material, then it does not address the proper texture... i think...
We would add, that in the folder (\Vehicles\ProCar\Procar) there are the file M180windows_in.dds that could override all other textures of the windows.

But in this file M180VB.GMT it is correct ..the name of the texture to be keep
The file are in the same directory (\Vehicles\ProCar\Procar)

With more probability the probem are that in the folder (\Vehicles\ProCar\Procar)
there are this files:


m180va1.gmt = GenString=MBFG111
m180va2.gmt = GenString=MBFG211
m180va3.gmt = GenString=MBFG311

Ok now What's missing?
missing the

m180va4.gmt = GenString=MBFG411

now can copy as M180VB.GMT and rename with m180va4.gmt because this files recall the EXTRA windows.

I think but im not sure of this ...

File VEH of castrol need to be change like upper string GenString=MBFG411
copy and rename M180VB.GMT to M180Va4.GMT.
but in game some little prob. now you can see across the air ole the road in bumper view ... the window are completly black

Hey i have re-keep the m180va1.gmt open end edit the windows material and saved like m180va4.gmt.
Now the car is:

I have create a new set of tyres see GenString=MBFA411 where A = recall the mbfatlra.gmt front rear left right in total 4 gmt one for tyre (edited) with a new material called avon.dds

What is the genstring line that i have to use for the the new Castrol car
still cant see the fuel filler ... Im getting confused

For the le mans car you need to set = GenString=MBFA411 = m180va4.gmt
you need a GMT file "m180va4.gmt" to put in \Gamedata\Vehicles\ProCar\Procar.

Gianluca if we re-pack the mas file will any of the NEW gmt files overwrite OLD .gmt files ...

I Do not want to re-pack the Masfile until we are sure we have ALL the files we need for the complete Masfile ...

The #111 MK Motorsport car works great wheel and fillers works great
but the castrol car the filler is nearly transparent ....
Not sure why but you are moving in the right direction ....

For the filler i need to re-save it in correct dds (maybe) Because The #111 MK Motorsport window are gray and castrol are black....

I Did not like this car before but it really suits these wheels

I Think your right about the screen colour for some reason the screens
show up all different shades of transparency ....

This is an area we could improve upon ...

I Think ive made a breakthough with the file structure as we had a lot of duplicated files ...

Gianluca could you do the same for the Black Air press car it needs the black discglow wheels

Gianluca i have a problem the blue discs have gone from the blue airpress car and the denim car these have been replaced with white ones

Sorry CarL i dont have this problem anyway, you sure to put the files in second directory ( ProCar/procar)
Also the new withe disk are GenString=MNFW422 in denim car are MBFB. or you have change in last days somwere in file veh (when you have try to modding the tyre?)

...mmm .. for the 1980 goodYears tyre on the same cars ? ... we need to make a new files gmt with goodyears tyre and disk colored..

I have now update the orange rims for the Kelleners car its work now ...
So i have update the AirPress veh file
- AirPress 1979 blue car blue disk are it always been ok
- AirPress 1980 the car was black i edited a file veh with black rims for the black skin (need to change Dunlop to GY tyres)

Basically all the wheels we have for the 1979/1980 Procar season need to be Mostly Goodyears
and any cars for the 3rd add on season , Le Mans 24hour ,DRM and Rennsport Trophae ,Imsa
cars should be Dunlop ,Goodyear Or Avon .....

So yes we do need quite a few extra wheels and Tyre combinations ....

But i have make the Black disk with Goodyear tyre ...

What you have to remember is that most of the Procars from 79/80 raced with Goodyears ...

The problem with some pics is it might be the right car but thr wrong year , many of these cars would
have raced in some form or another with probably different tyres so if we stick with the Goodyears for
these two seasons we wont go far wrong ....

I Suspect that this picture is taken more recently with a different tyre supplier ...
