The Lotus 43 never used the BRM V12 in real life, only the H16. It was a 1966 car and only appeared in early 1967 races, it wasn't at Monza.

Oui Frank, c'est pour cela que ses performances sont bien en dessous des résultats 67 , mais quel plaisir de rouler sur ce moteur de légende qui est considéré comme l'un des pires moteurs créer pour une F1 .  affraid

No wonder it sounds good, TWO v8s.

This is also why it takes a runway to stop it.

@Mike Becnel When Lotus took delivery of their first H16 it took SIX men to carry it from the van to the workshop (Imagine that in today's F1 world). Because of the poor reliability of the H16, BRM earned the nickname of "British Racing Misery".

It's hardly one of the "worst engines" in F1 history though. It did win a Grand Prix for one thing (USA 1966 with Clark and the Lotus 43), which is more than many engines can say Smile. Initially Tony Rudd was hoping to get 500 HP our of a 380 lbs weight for the H16, but turns out they got more like 380 HP out of 500 lbs Laughing

I meant among people not having been assigned a car yet, sorry Andre. If we allow you to switch cars, then we must allow anyone who wants to do so and the all prequalifying becomes useless and we start playing musical (racing) chairs instead :D. I'm sure you understand, but apologies for not having been clearer in my initial post though Embarassed .

En Italie en 67, BRM ne serait jamais arriver second avec le H16 mais bien grâce au V8 , le mod GPL67 Rfactor2 est bien mais il devrait être affiné , je pense à la BT24 et l'ajout du V8 BRM. Wink

You mean the V12 not the V8 Wink. BRM was late developing the H16 for the new 3-litre F1 rules of 1966, so started the year with V8 engines from the previous P56/P60 series (stretched from their previous 1,500cc form to 1,900 to 2,100cc depending on versions). With the H16 hopeless, they created the 3-litre P142 V12 engine, which debuted in Bruce McLaren's McLaren M5A in Mosport Park 1967, and was then adopted by the works BRM team as well as Cooper in 1968. The P142 remained BRM's 3-litre F1 engine up until 1974 when the P200 series replaced it.

This mod is anyway a bit akward as far as content is concerned. It's not really an accurate 1967 F1 carset, nor is it an accurate GPL carset. GPL only had 7 model of cars, not 10. The hierarchy between cars is rather conform to GPL overall I think.

The BT24 seems OK to me, it was clearly out-powered in real life and the mod reflects that.

@Frank en fait c'est Bruce MacLaren qui utilise le V12 BRM et qui se classe second de Monza en 67 et s'est bien Jackie Stewart , Mike Spence avec Chris Irwin qui pilote le H16 pour BRM. study

All I can say is the BRM is a slow cow with a beautiful, “Mooooooo.”

Beware to all, BRM has to brake early and if you get in the way it is an extremely effective bowling ball!
