4 yellows in 40 laps?

Not good enough really. We had a good 15 laps and then we had yellows around every 5 laps.
People need to be more careful when it comes to restarts too, also people need to have much better spacial awareness.

PLEASE ENSURE ALL VIRTUAL MIRRORS AND FULL SPOTTER ARE TURNED ON.

Me crashing in T1 caused the second yellow. I dont know why, but it seemed to me that it was like 6 laps behind SC not 3 as ussual.. Im very sorry for that, I lost the car becose it stayed in 4th gear, it just spun me..

However, Im a bit conserned about my speed, I was overtaken on the straights just too easy, or at least it seems to me like that..

Waching others driving, I noticed that I have to slow down in turns more and use the inner, smaller radius. If I were driving in the middle of the track at higher speed, like I noticed a lot of you are, Im just not able to turn in.. Ill try to figure out something until tomorow.

You probably need more wing on the car. So if you're slower in the turns, you will be slower in the straights as a result. It's all about momentum on ovals.

Sry Austin my fault, saw you there but somehow was expecting you to close trajectory more and allow us to do the turn two-wide as I had done some laps before while overtaking people.

I'm sorry I did not see the car on your outside I thought we were only 2 wide spotter didn't report the 3rd. If i would have known that I would have backed off. My mistake

You were already ahead enough to have the right to the position, I should have cut off but as I said I though we could make it in parallel through the turn. TBH in the real race I would have backed off, but today I was not focused and was more interested in testing aero effects etc.

I caused the last yellow yesterday. I accidentally turned the boost to minimum (as I had the "message center" off). I was a sitting duck on the last restart and before I realized what the problem is, I got hit from behind, as I was probably 40-50kmh slower than anybody else. With your help I can see the boost level now, so this situation won't repeat. Thanks :top:

Is there a rule in place prohibiting smoking cars?
I'm not seeing it, so am asking.

Yesterday, I realized during the test race I didn't have quite enough cooling on the car, and that's not something adjustable on pit stops. After a while, especially if drafting another car, I would start to smoke at about the time I'd enter a corner...obviously that'd stop as I'd back out a bit...but then at the end of the next straight same thing.

.....not that I want to smoke all race. I don't, and have fixed that issue.
Just wondering what happens if I DO smoke during the race. Is it ok, or should I be actively backing out like I did in the practice race to prevent it (especially since, if it was to happen with current radiator settings, I'm stuck with it) so I'm not DQ'd...or just blow smoke and ignore it?

Smoking during the race will get you black flagged to pits to solve that, and if you don't, you will be DQ.

10-4.
So set those radiators high, because I see no way to actually resolve it in the pits.
Maybe I missed a potential cooling adjustment on the fly, but I didn't see anything regarding cooling yesterday.

Anyways, not an issue for me, just wondering where about the rule concerning it.

TY. :hello:

Hadn't had a loose moment in all of practice and during the race. And then suddenly, it just snaps. Unsaveable.

Total bummer, since the Coyne car was behaving quite nicely until then. Was aiming for a point or two as I was driving conservatively and keeping it out of trouble.

Phew managed to save the day ...

Got pole unexpectedly, as I did not a great lap, but I take it anyway Smile When the race started I noticed I had loaded a wrong setup or not saved my last tweaks, I missed one click front wing and I had trouble following cars, so I let Austin and Richard pass and hoped to fix it in the first pit stop. Then I was too eager Rolling Eyes an got a stop and go when diving for the pits which essentially killed my race as I went a lap down :grrr: To add insult to injury, my crew took 62 seconds to repair my paint (No real damage) on a later pitstop where I adjusted my FW and could start racing finally. Lots of traffic then, another lap down, but it's a matter to holding on so that I did. In the end, 7th place and the pole point is OK, I lost something better exclusively due to my own fault when I got that stop and go, so damage limitation was in order.

Fair racing all around, thanks to lapped cars, see you at Avus :hello:

I want to appologise for (possible) causing of a yellow while sloppy entered the PITs, and to you mr. White, I did not expect to loose the car soo much while entering T3, it supprised me and scared me and I panicly tryed to avoid both you and the wall.. very sorry, I hope it did not cause any damage.

besides that, a lot of things to say, about my driving, but all in all, wonderfull. could have been better, though.

Thank you David J. for discussing the setup, it helped a lot!

BTW grats to Richard and podium as well as all finishers, special mention to Austin for what he extracted out of the old March 87, clever setup with low wings that made it hard to overtake :top:

Nice experience!

Tried to gamble with strategy pitting in the second yellow around lap 30, destroyed the whole race after that. I was expecting a least the leaders to be  pitting during green but there came the yellow in lap 65 and 150. Dammit!!!

Well, still baby steps for me, maybe one day I will learn the oval tricks. :top:
(13 pit stops!!!!!!!)lol I really need to learn full yellow strategy management!

Congratulations Richard, David and Petr.

Let's keep going finishing races and see what happens!!

See you next race!!!!

First, Congratulations to Richard. It had to be an amazing drive :top:

And second - this race was a pleasure mosly because of the amazing setup from David Jacques. I couldn't do it without you, thanks! Round 1 - Checker 200 [20th Jan] - Page 4 3108518133

I don't know what to say had a decent car all day and under caution it decided to explode. I wasn't overheating not even close I was checking all day. Took to much fuel under the last caution because its + whatever fuel I had anyone know how to change this? Sorry about that 3rd or 4th restart cant remember. The car just would not accelerate had my foot flat on the floor? Hopefully my luck plays out better in the coming races because since I've started here at HSO I haven't finished one CART race. I guess there is not much I can do except drive my ass off and hope it works. Great driving everyone I noticed a lot of folks being respectful. Thanks HSO for another fun run... on to Long Beach 🌴 Hopefully I'll have more luck in my home state......probably not lol!

I manage to salvage a few points, but I had to work for it after losing 3 laps for repairs because I got taken out at T3 on lap 68.
