If anyone would like to commentate while the race is going on and you watch anyway, give me a message here on the forum and we'll see if we can sort something out.

I would not mind giving this broadcasting thing a go. I may stutter though...

One gear should do for the whole track, no shifting.

I think they did not downshift in real life, but whatever makes you quicker and drive more comfortable is the way to go. With the clutch delay we have in the mod it is likely that you will be slower, but you have to try and see.

Thank you.
What confuses me is the large area that should be covered in one gear considering boost input. With lower, or no boost, it becomes unusable..

You shouldn't be running your Boost that Low. I would say 1 Bar is the lowest you would EVER need to run, unless we're under Caution and you're trying to save fuel. But IF you're running a low Boost then setup your 4th Gear to run at that Boost level and then make 5th Gear for a higher boost setting.

We will be doing a test race on Saturday (Same timing as the official race except 40 laps) so we can check for any issues.

Anybody is welcome and presence isn't mandatory. If you do not have a full time car thought, we ask you to appear in any free or one off cars.

Thanks. :top:

Since no one replyed. Don't know automobilista. But in 2017 (rfactor) there was no limit. But you already know this? Referring to real life where there was none imposed yet.

We are revising the convenience of a pit speed limit in the interest of safety. The saturday race will be used as test bench, and then for sunday whatever specific pitting rule will be announced.

Thanks

Speaking of safety:

I hope people use their practice time wisely and develop a safe and raceable race setup. I see people spending most of their time on the test server going after qualifying times, which does not make sense to me. The race is 200 laps, what is one extra tenth worth in qualifying when you can't control the car for 3 laps straight? A good race setup must be priority, we don't want another wreck fest in the race.

When you feel comfortable doing 15-20 laps straight without incident, then go ahead and go for qualifying times. But I see way too often that people are prioritizing Q pace over race pace. Focus on the race, for everyone's safety.

+1,000,000

Please, let people follow this mantra. I have to agree with Jacob, most people don't commit enough time to race practice. If you cause constant accident due to ineptitude or are just outright dangerous, we won't be afraid to throw you out of the championship.

Very wise words from our current Indycar88 champion. At ovals the qualy setup can, and usually is, very different from the race one, as you go at the edge on just two laps.

In anybody is struggling to find a decent race setup, post here and we will provide a baseline one for your car. Then you can train with it and tweak it slightly to your needs.

I wanted to ask this at bugs/feedback, but since you started to talk about setups, here I am.

In some privious mods/races in AMS I noticed that after making several laps (no metter how much), you could reuse the worn tyres.. I noticed that in this mod, every time I enter the pits I get a fresh set of tyres.

My question is: is this an AMS or a specific mod option, and is it possible to make it available here?!

Im mostly testing longer stints and start with 2/3 fuel in the tank. It takes 40 laps to reach those final 10 laps and to see how car behaves while low on fuel and with worn tyres. Sometimes those 40 laps take more time than I have on disposal, and specialy when I crash after 20 laps.. which happens.. So making another 40 could be hard. Being able to continue on the tyres I used and with less fuel would be significant improvement for the setup and experience.

And one more question. Staggered tyres, in-car pit-menu offers all 4 tyres to be staggered, and as I understood only right ones are staggered, so, what is a proper choise if Im driving on 0.15 stagger..

grazie!
