Look what the postman dropped in my mailbox Very Happy Very Happy

Not exactly the car I have in the series, but I think it's actually an earlier version of the same car that had its nose reworked slightly.

A ce sujet, roulerons-nous sur une version des années 70, sans la chicane avant bridge turn ?

That's a good question, I will look into whether the chicane was used in 1971.

EDIT:  Yves is correct, this is the layout from 1971, no chicane was present.

I will look for a version that omits the chicane; if one doesn't exist, I will modify the track we have.

Indeed the car that Siffert entered at Laguna Seca in 1969.

I think Siffert then moved on to a 917/10 and sold this car which was still raced in 1971, although slightly modified.

1/18th Raul.

Where the chicane is now was the site of several high profile crashes. The first was in 1972 while testing the 917/10 part of the rear bodywork came off and Mar Donohue found himself as te newest member of the CanAm High Flyers Club. The next 2 crashes happened in the same race, to both cars on the same team. During the 1992 IMSA Camel GT race both Nissan GTP's suffered tire failures at different times during the race while approaching the dip, both drivers, Chip Robinson and Geoff Brabham went for spectacular rides.

It went upside down and when it landed it did 360's down the road, and Hawkins was upside down and trapped in the thing...So I stopped and a bunch of us got to the car...and we hoisted it up and got it back on it's wheels and he got out of it. He looked back and where he'd taken off, it was way back, 150 yards or more. He looked at the car and he looked way back and he looked at the car and then he said "F@%k"...and that was the story of the Can-Am" -Sam Posey

Timo

Really nice..
Its to big scale for my taste though.
I assambled a lot of Tamiya, Hasegawa, some Revel kits, all in 1/24.
My father once upon a time bought Tamiyas Renault RE20 Turbo in 1/12, started to work on it, than I continued, but its still unfinished after 20-25 years Smile

I do not have the patience to build myself. I always go for diecast ready to go models. Wink
