| Not parked on my street, but seen at a local car show today. Something Lacina, Janak, Hlavac and Karel can appreciate A Tatra | |

| Nice idea, must have a look around as I know in my street there are some rarer cars parked sometimes. There is a Citroen CX GTI and sometimes a BMW 318 E21, and in a car wash facility nearby they have some old cars from the 50s in pristine conditions also. | |

It seems to me that the car was parked in a restricted area delimited by the yellow stripes I do not want to be a moralist, but I find it improper to show the license plate of a car without the permission of the owner.

| If a car is parked on a public street, the owner cannot expect any kind of privacy afforded to them. Just saying. Now if it was private property, that's another matter altogether. | |

| I guess a Mercedes 230CE is a bit to mundane to be considered unusual? Nontheless: Mine, BTW | |

Thank you. Took me half a year to find a good one. The well-kept examples are indeed slowly getting more rare and increasingly expensive.

| Once again, all of our 7 oldtimers would be an unsual sight on our streets I'd say(people especially seem to call out to my father when he drives his Ford Anglia 106E, as that's a car old people remember driving around or owning one back in the days). Although Switzerland is rather known for old treasures to be hidden in garages by their rather wealthy owners, so if the weather's good, so are the chances to see an oldtimer taking to the road. | |

In America you know the word: violation of privacy ? You wondered why the plates of cars are obscured in all google maps ?
The license plate of the cars are attributable to the owner, and then publishing a photograph in the web violates the privacy of the one who spotted the car in the street The road is a public place but the car is a private vehicle, so it's best to obscure the automotive license plate if you want to publish it on the web It is not necessary to write articles of the law regarding privacy violations because it may vary from country to country My only advice is for those who unconsciously publish sensitive material of people on a platform like the web

| Bottom line, it's not private if it's on a public street. Public streets are the exact opposite of a private space.
And yes, this is an American's perspective. Sorry if that irks you. But if you want to crusade for people's perceived privacy rights in a public space, I can point out why I think that's an unreasonable expectation in any part of the world.

| The best when you ignore a situation is to keep the mouth closed. You don't have all informations about that shot, and maybe that the owner of the car is one of my usual customers with who I talk about cars sometimes when he comes in my shop. And in France, about street photography : "The owner of a thing does not have an exclusive right over the image of it; He may, however, object to the use of that image by a third party when it causes an abnormal disorder ". | |
