I think we got to look at the track or something, it seems at random points it causes mass-CTD's.
I don't know about Jason Whited and Juha but they left about half a minute apart from each other and shortly after Juha left, my game crashed. I don't know what happened to them but I assume Juha's game crashed too as he was on a timed lap just one or two KM ahead of me.
That's also not the first time it happened to me, I thought I should put this up.

Ahh...Now it makes sense why server was asking me about this earlier....hehe. I was more than a bit confused at the time.

Personally, I haven't had any of these connection issues. Don't think I've been dropped a single time and besides something that happened on my end, nothing of the sort for me. Just a coincidence that I left at nearly the same time as Juha, Pascal.

This track, no matter the iteration, is generally "heavy". I usually run it at no greater than "medium" on all my graphics settings and I don't run special effects or shadows when competing online....ever, really. Not as nice to look at, certainly, but it saves me the problems that sometimes occur when my settings are too high.

However, like I said, to date I've had no issues with connection loss or my game crashing while running this course/car combo.

Hopefully the issues get fixed, my main concern are the CTDs. I'd assume, as Jason left the game before Juha and I crashed to desktop (and that happened before with me already), I'd assume that CTD's may get caused simply by players leaving the server. I may be very wrong, but that's my theory.
Anyways, my stream is set up for YouTube and Twitch, as I'll be trying out Restream.io.

And here's my twitch: Twitch.TV/ThePanzafahra

Mad

This is not good news.
Really hope this issue gets sorted.

I won't whine about how much time I've invested in this race, and the training that goes along with it. I know that others have done the same, so we're all in the same boat on that front.

If the version of track must be changed....I just really hope you guys don't go with one of the versions with those ridiculously huge curbs all over the place....what a pain in the ass those things are...hehe.

Anyways, will be watching this thread diligently for updates regarding this concerning issue. Shocked

I think that throws my theory outta the window but honestly, this track doesn't seem to like being used online Sad

We are evaluating options. It has been a very unwelcome surprise that there are so many online discos Evil or Very Mad

so far the only person who has reported a disco is pascal? alberto, are you having them too? anyone else?

i haven't been on much, but i have not had trouble myself.

1st, everyone is on the 4gb patch, confirm.

2nd, pascal, what other "stuff" are you running? gid? broadcast software?

3rd, i think it would be helpful for individuals to report if/what issue they have had, instead of speculating that people might have ctd.

maybe its a big issue with the track, maybe its just configuration/settings on a few machines, data is needed to make a judgement.

best,
dave

My game crashed today when I hit the Race button, about 10 seconds after Pascal's game crashed. Also, a couple of nights ago my game died after Jason Whited left the server.

Though I initially said that I haven't had issues, I do recall now that twice I have been on the server when others were on and after leaving the room for a few minutes, I come back to find that I had been disconnected from the server. This is an issue I don't often have. Have a great connection, etc etc. But, at the time I thought nothing of it.

Just reporting now to have it logged with other reports so an assessment about whether there are issues or not with this track.

Perhaps some type of impromptu test session could be organized? I would be willing to gather with others and run such a test, if that was done. .....just a thought.

its good to test and discuss early, thanks for sharing the reports, i think that is helpful all around.

are you sure to have the 4gb patch installed? gtpc wont run long without it. any other plugins? (just for info) other than that, ill leave it to more capable hands.

I've got 4GB Patch running alongside GID PlugIn.
Also, as soon as I ALT TAB out of rF and try to go back, it crashes. Only happens with the GTPC mod, e.g. F1 1991 or CART 1988 work perfectly. Graphic settings almost at max.

Can you try the same GTPC mod/grid with another version of the Nordschleife? Like the VLN or CSGT one?

known issue with this mod, DONT alt + tab. changing the track wont affect this, so for the sake of not having crashes, dont do this.

Anyone using window mode?

I do and it seems like you can get away with a bit more when using it, in terms of CTD.

Sorry all, I must withdraw from this event due to schedule conflict. I am slow on this track anyway and will probably just cause problems for other drivers. Anyway, good luck guys. I should be there for the next event at Spa.

Right we are back up and running.

First things first we will be using the same track.

Second thing is there is three updates you now need to download.

The first is a new rFm

The second is the brake updates for the Group 5 cars

and a new version of the HSO physics. HSO Prototype 2.2

There server is now back up and running. :top:

Thanks everyone for your understanding.

When the leading cars are on the "straight" between the Flugplatz and Aremberg, an admin will give the real start of the race by typing "GREEN FLAG" in chat.

Overtake before crossing the start/finish line is not allowed.

For the track at hand: do we interpret this as that we can start overtaking once pasted Aremberg? Or do we race at racespeed till the first time we pass start & finish?

Not that I plan on passing... but at least as I know as of when I may be passed Very Happy Very Happy.
