I made this forum post at NGR in 2013 after hearing the '55 Mod for GPL was still being worked on and this is what I just managed to read. I'm looking forward to it and I'd ask; Would there be plans for HSO to do some races in this Mod in GPL when/if it's getting released?

I wouldn't count on it :hum: A few years ago Frank promised me we'd race the 1966 mod if I signed up for a TCL championship we were running. I did and I'm still waiting for the race to be announced :D

I, too, am looking forward to the 55s. It's incredible how GPL is still very much alive, almost 20 years after it was released Surprised

it would be great though, specially with all novelties in the mod, as brake fading.
No online championship is fun after you get used to full races and realistic rules, but maybe 3 hours at Monaco will be a bit too much Twisted Evil

Lol cheeky devious me :D ! Don't remember that mate, but I believe you !

Nice to see the 1955 mod reactivated, hopefully this time they'll manage to finish it. Previous attempts went through some quite ugly internal wars and petty pissing contests :/ .

Would love to see some properly done '50s mods, be it single seaters or sportscars. There are a couple of gaps in racing history not covered by simracing, yet Smile

I couldn't agree more ! A late 1950s sportscar mod would be awesome indeed. And a 1,600cc F2 mod. And a 2,500cc Tasman Mod. Also a Board Track mod. Not to mention a 1960s sportscar mod. Or a Can-Am mod. Laughing

Amen to that ! I tried to motivate Ben Paulet to do a set of 1972/73 2-litre Group 6 cars as those seem pretty easy to do (just a moderately aerodynamic brick, really :D) but he didn't like them :smil20: . I bet Dave could do those in like 23 minutes each lol! . Would make for some great online racing indeed. Also would fit very well in our old dream of doing a career mod at HSO, i.e. doing a full season of 1973 for instance, with several categories of that year and some roleplay. We'll get there one day :jp: !

Don't wait for me to get 3d models. Evil or Very Mad
The xjr15 mod took me 2 years for one car.
I started Venturi 1 year ago, and I'm always working on 3D, even not still the textures.  Embarassed
So wait for me to get a multi cars mod, it's like to wait an intellingent thought from a french politic man. Much water will have flowed under bridges. :hihi:

:D Well the Jag was your first try at modelling, it was as much a learning project as a pure modding one, so two years is a great achievement considering you did this on your free time. Now with your experience I'm sure it would take you much less time to do a Chevron B21 or a Lola T290. And of course this could be a collective project with all the talented people from the HSO Factory Cool .

Michael you seem to have great taste in racing, you should indeed get your head into modelling again Smile. Ben started modelling literally from scratch, and with the help and guidance from our fellow HSO modders he has now blossomed into one hell of a modder - you could beneficiate from the same help if you wanted to.

I don't know what is your modding level, but I started following a video tutorial (learning 3ds max with Camaro as car model). Even a little brain as mine could understand the base of 3ds max, so if you have some free times and interests, let's go. Wink
And indeed, HSO modders can help you to every step of your work. We have 2 great modders in our league. :frank:

I'm easily satisfied: would already be happy with a set of very good 79-tracks for the F1 1979 mod. The tracks still are a bit of a let-down for that fantastic mod. For some, like Buenos Aires, the Culmone79 updates cure a lot, but that is a minority.

Then, what would be great, but probably rather in P&G GTR2-environment is a complete 1971 24 Hours of Spa-mod. There are offcourse a lot of BMW 2800 CS, Alfa 2000's, Capri's in that field. But also Opel Commodore's, Camaro's, a Boss Mustang and, last but not least, the AMG 300 SEL 3.8 - the Rote Sau. Most of these cars exist for GTL but the physics often seem off.

Then driving those on a good conversion of the realistic 67 Spa for GPL...
