As you may have realized, my stream is not working. Stream quality is "good", yet it says "Please wait, stream starting soon."

I'm pissed to be honest, but all I can do is blame YouTube.
I'll record the race and upload it later. Have fun all! Smile

43 laps. Arpad hit the tires, had to do a pit stop, couldn't turn the engine off... Boom, there it goes..

I'm angry.. I'm frustrated, Arpad is too.. Early retirement.. Well.. 1000 km of preparing for that.. But I don't blame him, it was just an accident..

GG to the Lancias..

I'm gonna render the video now and I'll post a link when I have it uploaded on YT.
Thank you HSO for organizing this event, just a shame the way it ended for both Arpad and me..

Very very sorry to Tiago Canola for the misunderstanding Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

The first time you tried to overtake I did not realize you had not as much top speed, and the second when I let you by I lost my braking reference as there are two identical plates at the left, really sorry. Thanks God I saw it was all a spin and you had no damage. Apologizes again  Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Stupid mistake. Half a tyre on the grass...the car spins and hit the wall. Rear wheel gone...end of the road. I wasn't even trying to attack but I was following my own pace.
I'm massively disapointed as Emmanuel had done a great job on the set. The car was easy to drive and I was taking a good pace

HMMM. Nice first stint from Alberto, thank to him for a stable race setup. I wanted to beat David Jundt in the Peugeot because i was faster than him but when i was 20s behind him my brakes damaged in Parabolica. When i was pushing the brake pedal car went without any controll into the grass on the right side and i flew throught the parabolica into the wall from tyres. Perahaps i was too hard on the brakes because i did everything what i can. :hum:

Well, I was having a lot of fun, I had panned to race until lap 121 because my team mate simply vanished in the last 2 weeks. He invited me to be part of the team and then disappeared. I hope everything is fine with him.

The car was doing fine, I had to issues. The first could take me out of race. I was lapping a GrC car and he delayed his brake point just before parabolica. I saw his car coming without control then I had to pull to the grass to avoid contact. The second one wasn't big deal but got damaged. I had exited the first pitstop just ahead of a BASF GrC. He tapped my at the lesmo curves. Ok..I moved on.
Then in lap 90 I think, I had a brake issue in the end of the main straight. The car simply pulled to the right when I had barely touched the brake pedal and I lost control of the car and crashed. Come on, brake failure, not fair!!! Sad

Sorry Thiago that was me. I posted above apologizing, really sorry. Your car did not let me see the braking point because I was too close to you and I missed it.It was my fault and thankfully I did not take you out.

As for my race, damn the brakes     Lost control of the car rear in one of the chicanes and bruised a barrell, was really annoyed because I had not done any driving error but then the car was very unstable, much more than the slight body damage indicated. The braking was horrible and the car moved left when under brakes, in the end I hit the wall and when I quit I understood, I had destroyed the brake

It would seem I added too much brake pressure, as our M1 suffered the same fate and the setup was made by me. Sorry Martin, didn¡t expect the brakes to die like that Embarassed

Dont worry Alberto, 96% is the same value like in my qualy setup so i suppose i would use the same value in my race setup if we would use it.

Tant pis !

If you join the grid Yves and you have low motor health, you can press ESC and then click race again hopefully with a higher engine health, as long as you are on the grid within 30 seconds it does not matter how many times you ESC back to the garage.

I have done this myself before in F1 races.

Well i blew it, i crashed the car, and then i had the starter mapped, but not the igniton, for some stupid reason :smil20: i changed profiles a while ago, because of the touring cars, so i guess i got caught off guard.

Feel sorry for my teammate, great performance from him in the beginning of the race, but well... there is always next race.

PostSubject: Re: Round 1 - 1000 Km di Monza [Feb 12th]   Sun 12 Feb 2017 - 21:20

That evening ended earlier than anticipated (due to Juha's rFactor crashing), and the rest did not quite work out as planned before.

After that F1 1991 disaster last weekend, I got a big motivational boost yesterday by hauling the Ford onto the 3rd grid spot (an all time HSO high for me). I found a couple of things over the setup we initially worked out that made the car more benign through the chicanes, which I applied to our race setup, though not in its full extend.
I took a careful start, got very close to one of the Lancias on acceleration, but decided to play safe and did not pull it through. As a result, I had to trade my position to Arpad in the other Ford, but hey, still 999 km to go. In the following laps, Arpad could open a gap, while I had one of the Saubers following me closely. I lacked a bit the confidence in the opening stages, and that for a good reason. The race was not very old, when I lost the rear braking into the second chicane Rolling Eyes I had to let the whole Gr.C field and a bunch of Gr.5 cars through and lost about 20 seconds. It took me a while to get ahead of the Gr.5 cars and Juha, who was a bit struggeling in the Porsche 936C, from there, gaps were pretty much static. Lost another 10 seconds a while later with another error, moved on, but I already found myself in a not so nice race situation.
Lapping slower cars was for most parts working well, situation awareness and communication were for most parts good, except for one guy on the track who was seemingly not able to cope with his car and found himself regularly off track. He sent me in another spin before the second chicane. Changing lanes in the brake zone while a faster car is approaching isn't cool at all! Evil or Very Mad

More time lost and the group Vincze/Coxon/Canola was getting more ground on me. And to add more insult to injury, I lost it once again in the second chicane. Trying to turn the car around, I made contact with the barrier and lost my front hood. F***! A change to our strategy was due and I pitted for repairs, new tires and enough fuel to finish my stretch of the race. Gambling a bit, I put the combination of soft tires on the front and medium on the rear, and drove the guts out of the thing for the next 25 laps or so. That tasted the car far better now, I had a far better balance than before and gained more confidence. I returned in 10th position and moved forward, quite some faster than the cars in front of me. Some incidents and pit stops quickly put me back into sixth position and still going strong, unfortunately the mediums on the rear didn't hold up that pressure. The left rear was already in the red when I had a first look on how the situation is, but the balance still allowed me to push further. The second to last lap before my scheduled pit stop, I started to feel the rear becoming a bit unstable and though it might be better to ease up a little. In that very moment, my rear just stepped out and I clipped the inside barrier of the first Lesmo. Another hood gone. Awesome. NOT! :bangry:
I limped back to the pits and handed the car over to Jason and that was the end of my day. I hope, they could still make up some of the distance I lost. Not my best day. In retrospect, I should have applied some more of the changes I made yesterday to make the car more stable, especially through the second chicane. And a word on the damage model of the mod: for my taste, the hoods fall of a bit easily. My second crash, where I spun into the inside barrier of Lesmo, that is one I don't see it unrealistic to loose a hood, but the first one was a slight head-on bump already on the brakes trying to turn the car around. Seriously? A bit very delicate... Not complaining, I shouldn't have spun in the first place, but just reporting an observation...
