PostSubject: Round 5 - Milwaukee (Jun 12th)   Sun 5 Jun 2016 - 22:35

Rex Mays Classic

Event Schedule (all times given are CET):

Sunday June 12th
20:00 – Free practice
20:45 – Qualifying Shoot-out (private session, 2 flying laps)
20:50 – Drivers' briefing and warm-up
21:00 – Race start, 150 laps

Server IP : 91.121.135.76:34600
Race server password : hso73

Restart Spacing Rule (**NEW**) (En français en dessous)

In response to drivers lagging excessively behind on restarts to get a run into turn 1, the following rule is being introduced.
On restarts, all cars must be no more than two car lengths apart, and single file.
Failure to observe this rule during the race could result in a post-race penalty.

*** VF ***

Race Start Procedure and Full Course Yellow (En français en dessous)

The start will be given flying behind the game-controlled pace-car.

This series will see the appearance of the Full Course Yellow procedure. When rFactor judges that a situation is risky (a car stopped on the track, a spin on a speedway etc..), he will throw a Yellow Flag. From the time this Yellow Flag is thrown, overtaking is forbidden, but if you have doubt about your position, rFactor will tell you where you have to be when you will cut the start/finish line. At the same time the pitlane will be close, it will be open again for the cars in the lead lap after one full lap behind the Safety Car. For the car which are a lap or more down, they will have to wait another lap. rFactor will anyway tell you in the chat all these informations (don't deactivate in-car chat).

When the Safety Car is out, you must keep a normal pace until you reach the the line of cars behind the SC. Otherwise you'll get a penalty. Same when you exit the pitlane under yellow, you have to be quick enough to rejoin the SC.

Full Course Yellow will last between 3 or 5 laps each time.

/!\ On oval track the leader will have to be careful to not overtake the Safety Car when the latter is exiting the pitlane. /!\

Drivers must be on a single file for the restart.

*** VF ***

Training Server

A training server running on the next scheduled track will be online permanently. Password :hso73

Behaviour on track

A few behaviour rules :

- as for all HSO races, it is required you use your real name both in-game and on the forum. Thank you.

- Chatting is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in race session. It is allowed in qualifying sessions for technical issues only.

- Drive Through : If a driver has to do a drive through, even if there is no pit lane speed limit, he has to drive through the pitlane at 100km/h max (60mph). If he doesn't respect this, he will get a 30s penalty at the end of the race.

- If you have a spin on the course, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure the track is sufficiently clear before you rejoin the race.

- As you exit the pits during the race, you are required to keep all four wheels under the white and yellow lines until you exit turn 2, then you can blend into race traffic. Failure to observe this rule during the race could result in a post-race penalty.

- Respect the red condition at the end of the pitlane.

Rookie question.   Why wouldn't my controls work at this track.   I had previously loaded Trenton and done a number of laps (offline).
So I loaded Milw the same way.  It shows up on the menu , Load Track, Race.  The car is sitting in the pits and will not respond to any controls. (Throttle, shift, steer ) but look right and look left work.

Do I have to go online in order to practice?  Is my new pit crew playing a prank?

Well I did join the practice server. And everything worked fine. I guess thats where I need to practice

I'm...........not gonna be at this one.....8 and 4 year olds have their Dance Recital Sunday afternoon right at Race time.

So my car is available, IF I can get my wheel issue sorted out, I'm still gonna run some practice laps. So I MIGHT be able to help whomever Dan hires to drive in my absence.

Am I allowed to say no one ahead of me in points or within 400 points behind me can take my car? lol!

It went upside down and when it landed it did 360's down the road, and Hawkins was upside down and trapped in the thing...So I stopped and a bunch of us got to the car...and we hoisted it up and got it back on it's wheels and he got out of it. He looked back and where he'd taken off, it was way back, 150 yards or more. He looked at the car and he looked way back and he looked at the car and then he said "F@%k"...and that was the story of the Can-Am" -Sam Posey

Check in the settings screen that your controls work and if not, program them again. Sometimes when switching mods you change player profile without noticing and there go your old controller settings. Also, ensure that your wheel is fully plugged before loading rFactor. Plugging it once the game is loaded or even when you already clicked on the EXE makes it fail to recognize the wheel.

You can practice offline, but many people prefer to do it online as they feel the track different. Maybe it's the time response of the ping/lag or whatever, but anyway many say they feel a difference and prefer to get used to the real track conditions they are going to race in.

Does this mean if Fitchy shows up, he gets his car back? If he does, of course I will step aside. Can he still get the points if I finish well -- as a sub?

I'll will consider myself under severe probationary scrutiny and do my best to not interfere with the drivers competing for the championship! :chinois:

I now have much work to do. study
