First test: Laguna Seca, 32AI. 60min accelerated qualifying, 20 laps race (longer than what I could last in the HSO race): no glitches.

Maximum (really maximum) gfx.

David, shouldn't the tests be ran at low gfx settings instead ? As the issue seemed to occur when loading the track with low settings or when the game was trying to load the low poly model when driving.

Good point Gui.

If anybody else tests the new patch then please set your graphics to the low setting.
Set Player detail, opponent detail and texture detail to low. Thanks.

Accelerated through an AI race at Laguna Seca like this. No glitches.

I've tried the patch and I think the problem is still present.

Like others, I can run full sessions with AI without crashes.

One thing I've experienced, though, that's particular to this generation of the mod (both patched and unpatched) is that booting several AI cars from a session will inevitably cause a CTD.  I've tested other mods on this rFactor install (F178, USAC73, HGTTC, TCL, V_LM GTPC) along with the 1.1 version of the HSO F5000 mod on another install and none exhibit this behavior. With anything else, you can boot 40+ car fields of AI without problems; with F5000 v2.0, it'll typically CTD in less than ten cars.

I'd think the car-removing mechanic at work with booting AI is similar enough to certain online actions (a user leaving the online session or perhaps even just hitting ESC to return to the pits) to be relevant to the instability we saw at the Laguna Seca race.

I'm running all settings on max except for shadow blur turned off, by the way.

Ah that's important. There is a known rfactor (?) bug that appears at many mods and that causes a CTD when the last of certain cars leave the server. It happens in the TCL mod with the 635 and it happened in our BMW M1 mod. Ideally this can be tested loading a race with AI and booting them one by one till the culprit is identified bounce

Testing booting cars myself and it seems to happen with any car type.
