oui j'ai regardé comment ca fonctionne et hier sur le serveur j''étais seul j'ai fait un procédure de départ avec le SafetyCar. (sa vitesse est de 120 km/h)

juste une dernière question
pour l'open 2010 on était parti dans la ligne droite après le virage 2

ce soir on part bien sur la ligne départ/arrivée ?

et on fait 2 files

Im doing something terrebly wrong??
This is third time my engine went off.. boost on 3/4, oil and water in green?? wtf???? it just burns itself...

any ideas?

Pas possible d'être aussi bête !

J'abaisse la suralimentation à 1 durant le tour de formation, histoire d'économiser qqs cls (y'a pas de petits profits!) et j'oublie bien sûr de la remonter avant le départ.
Je m'en aperçois dans la ligne droite quand je m'aperçois que ma caisse est un peu mou du genou, et paf ! au lieu de remonter la suralim., je coupe le contact !
Le temps de retrouver mes esprits, je suis dernier.
Je commence à me frayer un passage dans le peloton avec quelques frictions qui rend mon volant un peu tordu. Je crois profiter d'une neutralisation à venir, le drapeau jaune faisant son apparition, mais celui-ci disparait ! Pas de neutralisation, un tour dans la vue, une voiture tordue inconduisible à haute vitesse et en sortie de virage, je sens que je vais devenir dangereux pour moi et les autres... je préfère arrêter.
Dommage, j'étais à l'aise ici, je n'ai qu'a m'en prendre à moi-même !

Raul I ran bost 3, overevved in the pits, and engine went on the back straight. Did you overrev any?

Just could not find speed here...Alberto-thanks for your set. It was better than what I had, but I could not drive it well.

Hope I faciliatated passing well..not very fun, but better than doing nothing...

Well, James, i dont know, it went off on the backstraight, in 5/6 gear change, Im lifting off while upshifting, but maybe not enough, maybe those little tenths or hundredes of the secconds in high revs are what deals dammage, but nor engine status in % shows anything, nort oil/water temp..

this is silly, cuz all the road/street races Im having engine explosions...

You shouldn't have to lift in this mod I don't believe....

Oil and water in green... you are using an gauge plugin?

What radiator did you run?

What radiator did you run?

yes Raul
you don't have to lift when Shift up a gear but when you slow down and brake and down shift you MUST heel and toe a small amount of gas, in order not to block the diff of gearbox and not to damage the motor

i try my best not to damage the engine
i use a plugin motec XD ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to control my  engine life
but i started the race with 100% of engine life
i finished with 86%
i mostly drive 75-80% with boost 3/5 and 20-25% boost 5/5 in this race.

Raul, do you have auto lift and blip set to "1" in your PLR file?  I've run dozens of races without an engine loss
and I always turn up rpms to the max on my setups.  But as someone said above: too small a radiator opening will cook you engine fast, but really you should see the overheating warning it that was the problem.

Raul, I looked at the replay and you are shifting too late and not lifting enough. I shift up when the HUG Tach Gear Indicator turns to red, which is before the dash shift lights turn to red. And like Lee said, make sure you have the Auto Lift and that will help. Radiator 3 is almost always needed when using any sort of boost over 2. Higher boost does not necessarily affect engine wear, but it does affect the engine heat.

First race without yellows, good job everyone! I made another poor start, but the race was very enjoyable.

Sorry to Greg for hitting your tire in on lap 1 in turn 2, I misjudged it as I tried to cut underneath you.

And sorry to Alberto for unexpectedly going inside you in turn 2. I didn't plan to pass there, but I started braking a little later than I should have, but looks like you saw me coming, so thanks!

A decent result, but a miserable drive. We partied hard until Sunday morning, so I was recovering the whole Sunday and it was reallydifficult for me to focus on the race. I qualified better than expected and was able to hang around with the leading group during the first stint. But then I started to make mistakes, did some "green track racing" at least five times and broke off the front wing 30 laps before the finish. At least i made it to the chequered flag...  Rolling Eyes

However, I was really surprised to read that you guys can use boost 3-5 during the whole race. Just like in Portland, I couldn't afford more than some 30% of the race on boost 2 and the remaining 70% on boost 1. Otherwise I would kill the engine. Before I fell asleep I realized that I have Auto lift disabled in .plr file, which is what you discussed later. I'll change it and hope that engine wear will get better. Boost 1/2 was kind of acceptable on twisty tracks like Portland and Mid Ohio, but I would struggle badly on the long straights at Road America.

Same goes for me, had engine map 2 the whole race and only 24% left of the engine at the end of the race.

Had a great start and was up to P4, when I made a mistake under breaking for turn two and lost both front and rear wing + a flat tire... Never had that problem on my training laps...

After a 120 second pit stop I could start running again, car was not fine any more, but good drivable.
Later in the the race, when I tried to get a lap back against Raul, he touched my right rear wheel a little, after that my car was very difficult to drive, very unstable but I somehow managed to finish the race without wrecking it completely.

Decent race for me, placing the Penske 7th for some championship points Smile

At the start of the race I had a very good fight with Gerard for many laps probably because his car was not 100% OK and he was slower than normal, and I finally overtook him at turn 3 and had opened a gap when I made the single error of the day, which cost me dearly. Spun the car at the dreaded turn 4 running alone, and while trying to get it pointed correctly with cooked tires got in the way of Gerard who hit me and caused some damage. Sorry Gerard, was sideways and by the noise thought you were passing on my back (Your left side) but it was the opposite Embarassed

Fortunately the car was still driveable, albeit with the wheel turned some 30º right, but good enough to finish.

I ran all race with boost 4/softs and no problems, but I did not overrev the car. Made 2 stops but a 1 stop with hard tires could have been an alternative.

Raul-you might try doing a race length practice on the server once it is up and running for the next race. I believe Martin sets it to cycle through practice....then quallly....then race....

Maybe even try offline-just be sure to get your race settings right...

Raul, the problem is not in the setting of the values in your (our) player filer (.PLR).

if you have a look here page 2 => [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

the setting on the server is : autolift=on (if i'm not wrong it's at accel) // autoblip=off (at braking, need heel/toe)

So your personal setting will not have the priority on server settings.

Mathieu, I know that server setting is superior, but if my setting was set to 0, and it was, since I changed it now in all mods/game instances, and there is a diference...
Ill try full race simulation and see... but after Donington park race :yaa:

a small flackback on my race

Reynard - Honda - Firestone Package for me

Week on training:

Lucky i was on training with Petr Hlavac
he helps me by sharing his setup (from Portland) many thanks
i manage to drive with consitency but not enough qualifying approching
it came little by little by
i was able to set a 1.07.4 for my best in hotp lap

Qualifying:

with the look back i made 2 mistakes
with a bad copy/paste i though there were 2 hot laps, it was only one
so i did only a medium lap with low boost to warmup the car, the tyres and the driver 1.09:615
15th on the grid on 20 drivers at the start.
yesterday i drive on more time with a new Wheel (to know if i can do same lap with different wheels) but the setup was with hard tyre Embarassed
and i did 1.06.616 yesterday (after 6 laps)

Race:

first Rolling with this trick track i was not confortable with trafic
so to drivers i have frighten.
start green green green
hot first corner and braking no contact i was on outside of first corner a turn 1

turn 2 ok
straight martin is slow turn 3 is coming very hot moment i turn finish braking on Inside kurb small touch with martin beacause 3 wide !!!

running first laps around 12-13th place.
was enjoying no mistakes
