1988 Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft

1988 DTM - Rules Affiche%20DTM%2088

Touring Car Legends Mod & 1988 DTM Cars

The championship will use the 1988 DTM cars available in the Touring Car Legends 1.10 mod for rFactor.
You will also need the sound pack to get all the engine sounds and the BMW 635 fix.
Engines sounds can be greatly improved by using this additional sound patch made by Guillaume Siebert from the Touring Masters version of the mod by the RaceDepartment.

Six models of cars are available for a total of 45 entries : BMW M3 (21 cars), Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 (15 cars), Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth (6 cars), Toyota Supra 3.0i MA70 (1 car), BMW 635 CSi (1 car) and Ford Mustang GT (1 car).

All the upgrades available are allowed : the 6-speed gearbox for the BMW, the works gearbox for the Mercedes and the 370 HP "low restriction" engine for the Ford Sierra.

Car choice is free but each driver must keep the same car for the entire season. Changing of cars during the year will be tolerated under exceptionnal circumstances only.
A driver missing two (2) races in a row without any explanation on the forum will have his car freed for someone else to use.

Championship Rules

The championship will be run over 12 meetings, each hosting two feature races of approximately 35 minutes each, preceeded by a one-lap qualifying shootout.

Qualifying

Qualifying will consist of a one-lap shootout for each driver. This 5-minute session will be a "private" one as per rFactor's rules, which means each driver will be alone on the track although everybody will run simultaneously. Each driver will be allowed a maximum of three laps : one warming up lap, the sole qualifying lap, and the slowing down lap. Any driver covering more than three laps will have his qualifying time disallowed and will be put at the end of the qualifying order.

The starting grid determined by the qualifying shootout will be used for both races.

Event Schedule

All meetings will be held on Wednesday nights (all times given as CET)

20:00 - Free Practice
20:50 - Qualifying Shoot-out (private session, 5 minutes, 1 flying lap)
20:55 - Drivers' briefing and reconnaissance laps procedure
21:00 - Race 1 start
21:45 - Race 2 start

Starts will be given standing on the grid, after one formation lap.

Each driver must have full knowledge and understanding of the Reconnaissance Laps procedure which will be used in all of the championship's races (except on the Nordschleife). Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Points System

Only cars having completed 75% of the race distance will be eligible for championship points.
All results will count at the end of the year (no dropped scores).

The 18 first finishers of each race will receive points on the following scale :

Position123456789101112131415161718
Points201816151413121110987654321
-
The same points scale will be used for the Manufacturers' Championship, with only the best car of each make scoring at each race.

Behaviour on track

- as for all HSO races, it is required you use your real name both in-game and on the forum. Thank you.

- Chatting is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in race session. It is allowed in qualifying sessions for technical issues only.

- Drive Through : If a driver has to do a drive through, even if there is no pit lane speed limit, he has to drive through the pitlane at 100km/h max (60mph). If he doesn't respect this, he will get a 30s penalty at the end of the race.

- Shortcuts : If a driver gains a position after shortcutting a turn, he is required to give it back as soon as possible. In the case where a driver would not do it rapidly, a 30-second penalty will be added to his total race time. In the event of abusive and intentional shortcutting, severe sanctions will be applied (up to definitive a ban from the league). To make sure you never shortcut a turn, try to always keep two wheels on the track.

- Respect the red light at the end of the pitlane.

Application and Interpretation of the Regulations

The admins alone are qualified to solve any problems raised by the application and the interpretation of the present regulations.

Yes we dropped the weight penalty as it's a drag to enforce in rFactor. Same for the rolling starts, the automatic ones suck in rFactor and the ones we do "manually" as in the IMSA series is not very satisfactory imho  :smil20:

Is there a physics difference between the AMG gearbox and the standard one? Back end snaps out more with the AMG one i find.

IIRC the only difference between the works and standard boxes is that the works one has more gear ratios and final drives availables. This way you can fine adjust the box more closely to the track sometimes and get the optimal power & torque more often Wink

Did some offline testing - some tracks are likely to favour the extra flexibility that the works 'box offers. I personally don't think it's particularly snappy unless you brake too late and in a s****y fashion, or when it's extremely bumpy (though in the latter case the other extreme can happen and this is why adjustable brake bias is useful! Razz).

Mind you, I like driving with rearward brake bias so I'm probably a bit biased with this one :D

"TCL.rfm"confilt config.
et je ne peut pas rentré en piste.
mon TCL a toujours bien fonctionné normalement.
