yea it's sad nowadays. It goes into the direction most consumers want: hybrid/green cars  Sad

Historic classes/racing will be the new future of popular racing  lol!

During the US broadcast they mentioned the organizers of the Australia race were livid about the engine sound and are considering suing F1 because F1 is supposed to sound a certain way and current F1 does not deliver. I had the race on DVR and found myself hitting the "ahead 30 seconds" button several times in the race. I am not thrilled, but not done either.

Well, the guy in charge of Melbourne GP just wants some press. He complains about everything. In 2011, he tried to convince all the F1 promoters to go in IndyCar because he didn't like something Laughing

BTW Mike, if you found Melbourne dull... Lets say that ahead 30s button will be used a lot.

https://www.youtube.com/user/CrapwagonChampcarfan/playlists

Those are already in playing lists, so you can watch the full season race after race without searching for the videos  :banane:

There are also all 1993 season races and many more from earlier years if you search.  :top:

If I could buy the full thing in DVD sets I'd have them already at home  drunken

I have to say that I like the fact the formula 1 cars now have far less grip...you can see the back end twitch coming out of a corner...that's worth watching for me  Surprised

Happily chose to go see BTCC live over watching the Malaysian Grand Prix at home. Did I miss much? I think I already know the answer...

BTW for those interested in old school Indycar/CART, there are not just all the 1993 races there, but also a series of great stuff with Nigel Mansell.

He was so popular at the time that the BBC followed him to America, and you can watch in sequence if you search carefully:

- A series of videos when he first meets the car, and later explains all the peculiarities in it

- All the 1993 races

- A series of long interviews with Mansell at his home, commenting each race afterwards.

- A post season recap with him.

The stuff is so amazing that I'm going to try somewhen to compile it all in a DVD/set of DVDs: Preseason / Each Race + Interview / Post season  :top:

It's the misfigured offspring of "IRL" and CART. Even so, the racing isn't as bad as in Formula One..

Today's friday night plan ...

After one of the most stressing work weeks in a lot of time, I'm right now comfortably leaning on the couch, the kids in bed, watching an Indycar race from 1991 whose result I don't know holding one cold beer with one hand and using the other to give modern F1 the middle-fingered salute  :D

This is pure heaven  :cowboy2:

Nope, she's at home and part of the reason I can save my hand for doing the middle fingered salute to the F1 crowd  :hihi:
