study scratch :hum: :regl: Question

merci  :hello:

My interpretation:

- World championship...
... - All cars participate
... - 10 specific races
... - Best 6 results count

- Von Trips trophy
... - Championship fpr independents only (they compete in the world championship AS WELL)
... - All 16 races
... - All results count

Clear? Smile

All cars and drivers can take part in the Von Trips trophy races, but only privateers will score points.

Regarding car booking, When we make our car preferences can we go, Ferrari # 1, Ferrari #2 and Ferrari #6 or do our choice have to be 3 Different teams Ex. Ferrari, Honda and Scuderio BRM?

A good combination might be 1 (Ferrari 1512), 18 (Lotus 25) and 30 (Indi Brabham-BRM), for example Razz

Also with most people aiming at Ferrari V12s, those putting something else as first choice will have a jolly good chance of getting it I guess  :jp:

How many grid slots are available for the next race? Is it a full grid or is there a limit, if yes is it the same for every track or does it change from race to race?

So we have a 30 car field + 4 Parnelli = 34 cars in race then potentially?

It will be a field of 34 for all races indeed, except for Monaco. (We have not decided yet).

It's Parnell without an 'i'  Wink From Reg Parnell, who had died in 1964, so his team was run by his son Tim in 1965. Reg Parnell Racing evolved into a sort of BRM satellite team over the years, with Tim Parnell ending up team manager of BRM when RPR closed in the late 1960s. Not to be confused with US racing legend (and 1970s F1 constructor) Parnelli Jones (whose real name was Rufus Parnell Jones  geek :D ).

Frank knows more about racing history then Wikipedia it seems  Shocked

I love vintage stuff as well...today I looked into a book which I bought many years ago called 'Grand Prix de Monaco'. Some of you guys might know it..largest and most heavy book of my collection  :D

Yes "GP de Monaco" by Schlegelmilch is excellent. His "Fascination Formula 1" one is even more awesome  Cool

I think the biggest racing book I have is the first edition of Pierre Ménard "Grande Encyclopédie de la Formule 1" which is two volumes weighting a total of almost 10 kilos  What a Face But then it's total crap, with some of the most uninteresting text ever written on F1 and teens of editing errors (entire pages missing, caption errors, etc etc). Only really feature worth mentionning is it has lap-by-laps of every WDC race since 1950. Still, not worth the very expensive price I paid for it when it came out. With all the editing errors in it they very quickly did a second edition with corrections, so I think first editions can be sold for a nice sum these days :jp:

We have welded Frank on a chair in a very small room. In front of him, a PC with HSO site only, to his left side a stack of racing books, and to his right side a tank of cola. He can't go out, only to learn the racing car history.
He's our Gimp, and we love him. :D
