Unlike the F1 1980 mod, this is an entirely new mod  Includes the Brabham BT46b "fan car" too

F1 1978 Mod Download

Please read below to get the best from the mod. Link at the end of the post.

1. If you installed the 1978 F1 demo then remove the folders
rFactor/gamedata/vehicles/F1-1978
rFactor/gamedata/sounds/F1-1978

2. Unpack to your rFactor folder

The links to the recommended tracks to run a 1978 season are shown below.
The tracks come from other mods.

To get the best out of this mod you need to run the 1978 season.

Example of how to have a 1978 season race at Zolder (Belguim)
Select Zolder from the GP1979 tracks

In the vehicle filters only select ROUND-06-BEL

The opponents will be the entrants from the 1978 Belgium Grand Prix only.
Select the correct number of ai drivers,

It does look impressive  

I've done some laps in the Fan car , Lotus 79 and Renault and i have to say i'm quite excited
right now This was the 1st year i got into F1 and Motorsport in general ...

looks good, but from the video I saw on youtube cockpits really need more attention. This is the place were drivers spend entire time in the game...and it is not looking too good.

A mega download? I hear that you need an add-on for some browsers as the download sometimes just stops before the end.

This used to happen to me just click import downloads really quickly double click on file in the download list

Updates for
Engine compression values.
Ferrari engine temperature.
Differential settings for all cars.
Williams driveshafts added.
Wolf WR1 brake discs added.
McLaren M26 rear suspension updated.
A small update for the Renault exhaust.
