Thanks for all the recent responses. Will have to look at those soon.

I do likr the HGT 1.95 mod. Some Scca style races from the period would be fun with the v8s. Races were pretty short. Laguna Seca and Daytona's road course are two I remember.

I hope that you admins consider doing at least one Open with any of the old GN mods, maybe using beautiful road tracks like Riverside if you think oval racing would be less appealing to people here. :top:

I you guys prefer racing 400 kms at Riverside instead of 500 miles I made the 1982 carset myself years ago. :jp:

If the aero rear window on the Monte Carlo was deleted and the trunk area edited accordingly the resulting model could probably be used for quite a few cars :hum:

Or we can just throw the liveries from 1987 on them and were good to go! :top:

As long as it doesn't represent or feature the cars of a real series, I don't think that HSO admins will want to use it :hum:

I just wish someone did a good conversion of the GN70 mod from Rioux to rFactor Crying or Very sad that would be my dream mod for NASCAR Cool

EDIT: Hold on maybe someone already did it Shocked

Holy CRAP Thank you Alberto  cheers

The cars drive wonderfully, spent a hour or two messing around with it is great fun.

Maybe we can run the Daytona 500 or Indy again?

An open 1969 or '70 Daytona 500 in February would be amazing!

Of course, being HSO, we would need to be historically accurate...

A pole qualifying day, followed by twin 125-mile qualifiers to determine the starting grid.

I have not tried the cars on track, but the physics files show several things are way off. Suspension from modern NASCAR, slip angles of modern radial tires, innacurate weight, horsepower and aerodynamics among other things ... (And league edition physics!!!)

But it's a good base to work from, no doubt  :cowboy:

Well you are of course right (The cancelled USAC70 season comes to mind Sad ), but we never had problems to make reasonable grids for Indy 500 event Opens, so maybe a Daytona 500 open gets enough people Smile

On a side note, if we could produce good physics it would be awesome to go door-banging at Riverside with these things drunken

We never got full field at Indy and hardly got half a field this year Neutral 13 cars left after 20 laps is quite underwhelming.

Of course I am interested, it's just that we don't know if there will be many more people. But we can at least organize somewhen a fun race with one of us hosting if necessary, we'll see Smile
