Yes indeed Steve I forgot to mention the mods needed to be installed.

I started with driving the Meganes at Mills a bit. Felt good but the expected wow-factor was not really there.
Then I went for the classic F3-cars. Drove them at Spa, Monaco and Mills... There is an immersion-factor I have never had before in a sim. The tracks look magnificent. Once the steering wheel well installed, the feeling is great. The car behaves well. It's really a pleasure to drive and I have a hard time staying a way from the PC.
The rain-effect is not yet very well done IMO. I personally feel it's better in GTR2. E.g. there is no or barely no spray of other cars. Grip doesn't really change a lot etc.
As to performance of the PC. I drove an offline race at Spa with 9 AI and everything maxed out. Same at Mills with the Meganes. At the start, with full field fps dropped to 25, but everything remained very playable. Once on the way, FPS went rapidly up to 50-60. It's doable but once the heavier mods arrive, it will become hard. So an upgrade will probably be in order.
All and all, it's still far from perfect but it is, IMHO, a very solid basis for probably one of the best sim-experiences ever.

It's still a beta. Wait for the final game before planning any upgrade.

with windows 7 click start button bottom left/select your name in menu then open APPDATA Folder/Then ROAMING Folder/Then RFACTOR Folder/Open rFactor.name file with notepad/change name to yourself/close and save. Go to to your rFactor2 install/ userdata/ rename player folder to your name/ and the player.plr inside player folder to your name/open .plr file with notepad and change this to your name as well [ DRIVER ] Player Name=
could not find way to create player ingame lol
you may have to have show hidden folders option which is in control panel/folder options/view tab

I think it was during the purchase, there was a box nickname, first name and last name. I typed "Ben Paulet" in the nickname box, and I have my name in rf2.

Encore merci

You mean we can put the option on the server ? Coz by default you can race online with a nickname, I saw many on rf2 public servers.

Ah so maybe some tweaked it by entering a nickname in the first name and surname fields ? One was called "Bu Bu Bu Bu" lol :s
