PostSubject: Re: Round 1 - United States GP [Jan 13th]   Round 1 - United States GP [Jan 13th] - Page 11 Icon_minitimeMon 14 Jan 2013 - 19:09

Yes but that's the funny thing, normally I'm quicker in the races because over a larger amount of laps I end up learning my way around the track better scratch

Probably *just speculating* the reason is that in qualy I can use supersofts which are more forgiving with my poor use of the gas pedal (I'm left footed so at least I have an excuse for my incompetence there :D ), while in race I have to run on the less grippy supersofts.

Basically the walls ruined my day. After being unable to make the Saturday q session, I was unable to start further up the grid but start still went well and I was throught to 5th in the first corner. On lap 3 I bent my rear suspension after turning in too early and running my car straight into two walls through the 3rd sector. Damaged my nose, front left, front right and rear right suspension and drove around with about 30 degree lock on the right (I only use 200 degree steering lock) while on straights, and on lap 10 I think I completely got the left corner after the fast right completely wrong. Only thing that made it worse was that the commentary team happened to be watching me exactly as I fucked up :aie:

Great work Franck, nice 2 points for Dallara! :D

Blaming the walls in a street track is very unfair for the walls, I mean its not like they could have been somewhere else.

So you got a drive through also? I am guessing maybe 2? You dropped way back at one point and I never figured out why.

Not even a drive through to justify such a gap. Embarassed Just a broken front wing (19sc for the repair). I should have been maybe 20 or 30 sc behind you at the end of the race.

Both Ferraries last lap without front wing...it is not a bug, it is a feature!!!
