Ok guys, I decided to show you what I have been up to in the last 2 & 1/2 months. The model is a 1/12 Porsche 934 Rsr Turbo from Tamiya, and it has arrived into my hands in a very poor state. I will never understand how can someone destroy a fine masterpiece like this one, it's really a piece of art. The car was originally a Max Moritz Porsche with the Jagermeister sponsor, but since the model has been discontinued and couldn't find any decals for it, I decided to make a "street" version of it, naming it "Black Edition". I disassembled the whole model, painted it brand new, crafted some carpet for it, made some parts from scratch since the original ones were in pieces......, basically, a total reconstruction. The model is not yet ready; should be in a week or so, but I couldn't wait to show you guys how beautiful it has turned out and how proud I am of it. When it's ready I'll post the final pics of it (sorry for not showing any earlier images of the engine outside the chassis, only later I remebered to take pics of this twisty adventure) :D

That is really nice Tiago. I have to assume you painted almost all those parts. Gorgeous!!

What did you use for the carpet? I have a model I want to build that could use a touch like that. That really sets the car apart from others I have seen.

Beautiful car & great restoration Porsche 934 model 652294 , though it's a real pity that you couldn't do a real race paintjob. Are you sure you can't find any decals? There are some quite simplier paintjobs that you could copy like the red Kannacher GT car etc, it's somehow a pity to see such a great job done for a gloss black skin instead of a racing one Sad

Mike: I use velvet self-adhesive paper, very simple to use, cheap and gives the perfect look

Gui: If this one was a 1/1 scale, my life would be perfect :D

Alberto: The problem is that 1/12 scale aftermarket parts are not really a common thing, there's lots of extra parts for 1/24 but 1/12 is not easy I already got pretty lucky to get the golden Porsche logos.

David: Obrigado :top:

As soon as this one's finished, I'll grab a 1/8 Jaguar Type-E for restoration too. It's a huge thing affraid

Yes I know but you can also do them yourself in the computer and then print them in adhesive paper for decals or even take them to a professional printer for that in very thin one Very Happy I've done that for decals with my own motorbike some years ago after repainting it Smile

Just suggesting, in case you had wanted to paint the car in race trim if possible ...

EDIT: You can also get some ready to print decals like these: http://super-cars.net/http-images-forum-auto-com-mesimages-279922-1976-drm-porsche-934/images.forum-auto.com*mesimages*279922*1976_DRM_Porsche-934-Kremer-Vaillant_9.jpg/

Or simply this: http://www.google.es/search?num=10&hl=es&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&q=porsche+934+decals&oq=porsche+934+decals&gs_l=img.3...135501.136426.1.136714.7.0.0.7.7.0.0.0..0.0...0.0.uoElVyExlFk&biw=1920&bih=941&sei=ltb-T82lIs60hAeShuHFAw

Ok, but if I'm making the decals, those must be made in a vectorial program, right? I mean, i cannot make them in photoshop. I once tried to make a sticker for my car, and asked the printer to make it with the borders already cut, and he said that I needed to make them vectorial. The problem is: I don't know how to work in vectorial :hihi:

You can print it first in paper to check the scale, then take it to the printer ... :hihi:

Thanks Alberto, I'll keep this for reference for future models or maybe when I get bored of the black paint in this one and strip it down to make a race one :top:

They showed twice for me lol!

Amazing job mate how I miss doing scale models but the woman who does the cleaning in our house is about as careful and graceful as a drunken rhinocero and she has already destroyed some of my naval models, so I had to either give up of shoot her. My wife said she couldn't get another one trustworthy enough, so I had to put my shotgun again in the closet Sad

lol! lol! Well, my sacrifice is easy, when the cleaning woman comes into my room, she's already instructed not to clean the area where the models are, that part is with me, so I told her if she breaks any of the models, it would be paid from her salary. Works quite well lol! lol!

Beautiful attention to detail i did the same to a 1/24th scale Tamiya 935 after watching the film Condorman years ago
and painted it all Black ....

I have to agree with Alberto on this one it's a shame you could not find the decal's for the Moritz car
i used to go on a Modellors forum and there used to be a guy in Australia that could print the Decal's for virtually anything ...

I Managed to get the Decal's for a Marsh Model white metal 1/43 scale Group C Ford C100 a few year's ago
wish i had kept his detail's ....

Lovely Mirror finish to that Black Paint

I'll have to be a little more thourough next time I need decals, I guess.

I applied 3 layers of paint in the body, because I know that black can be a little dull in terms of body detail, so I wanted it to be as glossy as I could manage to do it :D

Here's some more with a little extra detail
