PostSubject: AMSCAR Sprints - Amaroo Park [July 12th]   Mon 2 Jul 2012 - 10:27

ARDC AMSCAR Series

The ARDC AMSCAR Series was a small Touring Car championship run over four meetings, all held at Amaroo Park (the home of the ARDC, the Australian Racing Drivers Club). The first of these meetings was the ATCC race which we already did, the last one was the AMSCAR 100 which we will do in August, while in between those two races were two meetings, each featuring three sprint races. We have combined these two sprint meetings into one night of racing, to be raced along the following lines :

EVENT SCHEDULE

Thursday July 12th (all times given are CET) :

20:00 - Free Practice
20:45 - Qualifying (5 laps maximum)
21:00 - Warm Up

21:10 – Sprint 1A start, 5 laps
21:20 – Sprint 1B start, 10 laps
21:35 – Sprint 1C start, 15 laps

21:55 – Sprint 2A start, 5 laps
22:05 – Sprint 2B start, 10 laps
22:20 – Sprint 2C start, 15 laps

Notes :

- The 5-lap qualifying session will determine the grid for all 6 sprint races.
- The overall results of Sprint 1 will be made by adding the individual times of the drivers in each of the three sprints (1A, 1B, 1C)
- The overall results of Sprint 2 will be made by adding the individual times of the drivers in each of the three sprints (2A, 2B, 2C)

- AMSCAR Series points will be awarded based on the overall results of each Sprint.
- The AMSCAR points scale gave 9-6-4-3-2-1 to the first 6 of each class (Classes A and B) and 3-2-1 to the first three overall.

- Server Password : hso87
- A training server will be running 24/7 (same password).

Thanks for pointing out your presence/absence in this thread.

I won't be able to attend the final AMSCAR 100 in August, so I'm not sure wether to participate or not in this one. I will announce that my car is free for these two races in case someone wants to jump in and do the mini-AMSCAR championship. If nobody does, then I'll attend the july race but not the august one. Is that OK with you Frank?

Just a quick question are the times "French" times or will they change automatically to my time zone? (gmt)

This one was good enough for me (crappy driver) qualifying 5th last time at Amaroo, beware that it is assymetrical (I'm an oval racer at heart, so I tend to use assymetrical frequently :D )

Hi!

I try to be home early enough to do my first race with you on Amaroo!

Did my first training laps today with the Mustang on this cool track, but it´s very difficult to drive very fast laps here! My best was a 51.864, but I don´t get several good laps in one piece with that time. Most are low .52

I have a question regarding the tire temps: Is this normal with this mod, that the tire temps get over 110° celsius???

I didn´t find a way to get them lower...

Thanks for your feedback in advance!

Ah, you mean hard tires woul be better regarding the temps?

And are they better for getting more good laptimes in a row, too?
