1991 IMSA Camel GT Championship : Camel Continental VIII

- From the early eighties to 1993, the Group C era rocked the world of endurance racing. But national sprint series were almost as popular, with the Supercup in Germany, and the supreme IMSA Camel GT Championship in the US of A. This series run by the main motorsport governing body in America featured some of the most epic cars and manufacturers battles ever in sportscar racing. The GTP cars, although mainly seen in North America (some did cross the Pond to compete in the Le Mans 24 hours a few times, without much success), were tremendous pieces of machinery providing great excitement for drivers and fans.

- 1991 was the climax of the GTP craze in America. Racing all over the country in 300km breath-taking races, the field was composed of various and competitive automobiles, a lot of them factory-backed. The Nissan and Toyota teams, although completely based in the USA (Toyota being an emanation of Dan Gurney's AAR stable), were fighting with their impressive bi-turbo powered cars for the pride of Japan, against the powerful and prestigious British Jaguars. The "cats" were racing almost the same models as those raced over in Europe, with minor modifications to adapt to the demanding American street courses. Representing America were the aggressive-looking Intrepids of MTI Racing, designed by Bob Riley. Powered by a powerful Chevy V8, they proved to be the class of the field on several occasions. Against these main contenders, the ageing privateer Porsches were still very much in contention, with team Joest from Germany seldom climbing to the top of the field courtesy of their dashing driver line-ups. Chevy and Pontiac powered Spices provided the backbone of a comprehensive GTP field. In the the GTP Lights class, mainly represented by Spice, the engine manufacturers Acura, Ferrari, Mazda, Buick and Pontiac were having a fierce battle for supremacy.

- The Camel Continental at Watkins Glen, NY was a thriller. Starting from pole and setting a new lap record was the blistering fast Joest Porsche of German legend Bernd Schneider. However, he could not keep up with the more powerful japanese cars during the 2h30 race. This event was marked by Tommy Kendall's horrendous crash. The driver sustained serious leg injuries and was not seen racing again for two years. Meanwhile, at the front, the Nissans and Jaguars were no match for Juan Manuel Fangio II's Eagle Toyota. He clinched a well-deserved victory after a very safe and trouble-free race at an average speed of almost 200km/h!! In the light class, Parker Johnstone's Acura was the class of the field and despite minor troubles he managed to keep young Canadian David Tennyson at bay in his Ferrari-engined Spice.

About the GTP mod :

- There are four differents chassis : the C is known as the fastest, then comes the B, the D and the A. This ranking may be debated according to driving styles. A fast car will NOT be granted to a driver who is known as fast by the HSO officials.
- The carset is to be installed in the \series\RDgtp\cars directory.
- The regular track.ini coming with the track has to be overwritten with the custom one provided in the links section of this topic.
- Qualifying will consist in a a 3-lap run, every driver being alone on the track.
- At least two pit stops are required to cover the full race distance. However, there will be no speed limit in the pitlane.
- If you have any questions regarding the installation and/or running of the GTP mod, feel free to use this topic.

This a great occasion (and probably one of the last ever!) to race wih the GTP mod for Nascar Racing 2003. As a consequence, we offer you to download for free a full version of N2K3, along with the GTP Mod. If you do so courtesy of the first link below, you will need to patch this set-up with the 1.2.0.1 Patch.

Safety

We will be starting the race Single File Staggered to assist in eliminating the first lap incidents. You MUST start with a minimum of a .5 - 1 second gap to the driver in front of you . If a driver is too close at the start, or causing problems, we may consider restarting the race. No pass in the first few corners is going to win the race for you.


Chatting

During, Qualifications and Race, no chatting whatsoever will be tolerated. Even to warn other drivers that you're exiting/entering pits, or to thank a lapper for letting you through. If you do chat, you will receive a warning

Pour info Antoine, pour faire dans la facilité, j'ai tout téléchargé suivant tes liens , mais sur :
DOWNLOAD N2K3 (GTP MOD INCLUDED) , ben gtp n'est pas dedans, il y a juste N2K3 ...
C'est pas un problème pour moi, j'ai le gtp, mais bon c'est pour les autres ou alors il est terriblement bien caché .... ou je deviens bète en vieillissant

pour lancer le jeu , c'est bien avec GTP NO CD ???

Unlike the way you create a player in Nascar Racing 2003 Season, you must create your player in the Option. Profile tab of the GTP_Launcher.
Do this by clicking Add. Add your player name in the last name section. .

Be sure to configure the rest of the extra settings the way you want to under the other tabs. Turn on the "Boost low speed steering"

Once you’ve configured things the way you want them, click Ok and then select a chassis. The four chassis’ are:

Toyota CV-88 (chassis A)
Jaguar XJR9 (chassis B)
Sauber Mercedes C9 (chassis C)
Mazda 787B (chassis D)

Then select whether you want to go into a Day or Night and Single player or Multiplayer game (this must be decided in the launcher before you go in.)

Sinon, si tu as le G25, il faut créer un profile spécial dans le profiler, et quand tu veux rouler sur GTP, faire (dans le profiler) options--->appliquer le profil au jeu--->appliquer le profil permanent GTP

j'ai refait 2 fois l'install comme indiqué mais dès que j’appuie sur le Start de GTP no cd , une image apparait et puis retour bureau !!
je suis sous vista , dois je faire la manip indiqué par Bruno ???
