Why can't any game company just work on making one full season. Instead of 1 or 2 cars. Licencing is an issue I know.

I know.  I don't understand the aversion to doing complete series.

the more people realise this the more will come back to rfactor 1
and get a strong devoted group that willing to do the same as the GPL community doing for 20 years!
stick to 1 sim

the great mod era for rfactor 1 has seperated into 3 sims these days
with assetto corsa the best promoted with tracks and mods still with like and dislikes
but rfactor still is so friendly for modding and most of us here all know now it's my dreama full glory high standard trackpack regarding 91 and late 50s 60s.

realy want and need help for some guys to only convert the copy i have from the best ever made zandvoort 60s to rfactor for use for the upcomming 1958 f1 historical mod that im testing atm
this mod is only for rfactor 1 and guys its a very high quality like the hgt cars!
with sergio loro from GPL is fuly working on his dream to make a 60s track pack for assetto, he will give his support and help but its a very slow progress doing a 1 man show

AMS is trackwise is coded and too difficult to mod and it bugs me to let David doing all by himself since he doing a great job by his last work for you all making the ring but it can be very much better looking, in wich i strongly believe after a test of a asseto corsa track ingame in rfactor

rFactor 1 is dead. We are sticking to AMS for now. Smile

As for the complete series, nobody is going to pay for that these days, unless we are talking formula 1. Any other series it has to be the series themselves to partially fund the game, like ACC, because "simracers" don't have time to drive footworks, they all want to drive the Mclarens.

You guys realise it's no mistake with these 3 cars since McLaren hosts their "Shadow Project" competition on rF2 again(after WFG, World's Fastest Gamer, where Rudy Van Buren, a guy I knew from GPVWC, won), so it kinda explains why there isn't a full season?

Not to mention... if you want a full season, I am guessing you'll have to ask a TON of teams, sponsors, rights holders, etc...

It would get very expensive I guess, the FOM will probably have a say, too...

No one said it was a mistake. We are just saying it would be nice if a someone made a full season. Instead of modding groups doing it.

As I said too, I know licencing would be an issue, but one can dream.

I mean I really like the cars, all three of them. Had to get used to the MP4/8 because that auto-gearbox caught me by surprise as there's no anti-stall or anything unlike the auto-gearbox on the FV10 in AMS..

Some things bother me though.. Did the McLaren M23 really have a 6-speed gearbox? If so, then wow. I thought other than BRM in the 60s they hadn't done it until the late 70s - early 80s

Plus, it's weird that rF2 seems to be running in a kind of slow-motion way for me to try and keep a good frame rate... those of you who played Grand Prix 3 know what I mean with slo-mo mode when the PO goes over 100%.. it's weird and it's annoying because whenever I play the game for more than 5 minutes (rF2 I mean, not GP3) it's slowing itself down, but not FPS-wise.. but that's a matter for another thread maybe

It had a 6 speed gearbox yes.

I know what you mean with the slowdowns. Pcars2 does the same thing if you play it with very old CPUs. I believe that's what the newer DX11 and etc graphics engines do when the CPU side of things can't keep up.

Is there any way to prevent this, not including upgrading hardware? I've only got my HP notebook with it's i3 quad-core and my nVidia GT750M graphics card.. but everything is literally set to minimum graphics. Is there a way to change the way the game processes overloads?

McLaren modified the standard Hewi gearbox by placing an additional set of cogs into the space usually occupied by reverse, and somehow managed to put in another set of very fragile wheels for reverse at the end of the gearbox (I seem to recall in the space where the oil pump used to be? Don't quote me on that), put some other stuff to make the new first and reverse work. A true masterpiece of mechanical engineering!

I think Nascar Heat 3 has the entire Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. As it does the Camper Truck Series... Very Happy Very Happy

That being said, for those with a weak spot for historic Winston Cup racing, this rFactor2 mod really rocks IMO. Think the guys are continuing to work on the mod till they will have full grids. But even in the present state of things, this is already pretty awesome and complete IMO. Big downer is that all cars have identical physics... Then again, if there is one series-mod that can get away with that, it probably is Nascar.
