Great looking conversion! Any chance of the group doing this mod or is it dead in the water?

:slurp: What was the state of finition of this conversion regarding physics already ? And how many cars ? I kinda lost track with this mod over the years ^^. The models look very nice indeed. An IMSA GTP season would be awesomely cool for 2016 :jp: ! We still would miss a few tracks I guess, but it's nothing JP cannot solve I'm sure :D !

To be accurate and suitable for HSO the mod would need the IMSA Lights cars, the GTP cars alone are not enough for a 20-25 drivers grid I think. Those cars didn't exist in the F1C VLM mod.

Hmm I don't know it depends on the season I guess. Most GTP years saw over 25 cars during the season, although rarely at the same time and many only did a couple of races. Due to the length of the races some drivers might want to team up so we could easily fit 40 drivers if we had 28/30 GTP entries Smile . Only the very last years of the GTP era had poor fields.

I believe it's the 1991 season, so Intrepids, Nissans, Toyotas, Jags and different 962s. Although they're all competitive and good looking cars, without the Lights cars the field would be too small, 20 cars max.

Don't think the Nissans were in the original f1c mod, I know they added them as dlc but they were the 1988 version I believe.

In terms of GTP Lights, there are a few cars in the GTPC mod which contested a few rounds like the Alba AR2.

Without the GTP Spices you cant really do decent historic fields, there were too many back then filling the grids (And a whole bunch more in the Lights class with different specs).

Ah yes 1991 is not the year with most GTP cars indeed, especially if there is no Spice in the mod... But with the Spice we could get a strong 25-car field. And the same Spice 3D model could be enough to make a decent Lights field, it would only take a change in specs. But without the Spice it would be very hard indeed :smil20: .

And there are still four tracks we don't have too I think : West Palm Beach, Miami-Bicentennial Park, New Orleans and Del Mar...

I think I once saw a Spice model on the HSO ftp once, was wondering if there was any work done to it or if it was purely a very early model abandoned early into development? There was also someone that was making a "Spice" over at F1Classic. I think he used one of the VLM F1Challenge cars as a base and changed some of the aero on it to make it look like a Spice SE90C but never publicly released it.

Oops, did I come across a file I should have never seen? lol!

Incidentally, there were some Spice GTP cars in a mod for SCGT, but I never owned the game so wouldn't know much about it. Most models from that game need a huge amount of work to get it anywhere near rFactor standards though :smil20:
