PostSubject: Logitech G27 Settings   Mon 27 Dec 2010 - 15:40

Father Christmas was indeed very good to me this year
Courtesy of a lot of help from Steve and my Mrs i now
have a Shiny New G27 Wheel ..... :D

My question is what settings do you use in windows for the G25/27 , also some good FFB settings
i have tried 900 deg in windows but have a job to turn into the corners quick enough
also what degrees do you choose once in game menu does this vary from one mod to another , im also struggling with
the manual gearchange so i was wondering how many off you use the manual or sequential
gearchange with the G25/27........

Also obviously i now have a clutch do you use this just off the start line or everytime you change gear ...

This wheel is amazing compared to my old one and i cant stop smiling
but i just need to correct a few things in my setup ...

Any help would be greatly appreciated with the wheel setup wise ,
particuarly with the mods that we have in mind for HSO this year ..... Wink

You can have a look to this : http://historicsimracing.123.st/t40-petits-trucs-sur-rfactor-small-tips-about-rfactor

It's for the G25 but it will work for the G27. I'm using this settings with mine.
I'm always using the clutch with the G27, for the start and to change gears (up and down).

I tend to use the clutch every time I change gear, I also brake with my right foot most of the time.

Overall effects strength is 102%, everything else is 0, with centering spring checked. Rotation is set to 900 degrees in Control panel, and I use the Logitech Profiler to change that for each game, e.g. 540 degrees for F5000. I believe my in-game steering ratios are around 16:1, depending on mod/game.

Using sequential mode or paddles with old cars is cheating Wink

Carl, try historiX with H shifting and 900°...it is completely different experience...you will be slower, but you will surely enjoy it...besides throttle and brake you have to think about steering wheel before very corner...judging from onboard it is nearer to reality then 270°....but of course...for league racing, it is not the "best" choice :D

I think 900 degrees might be good with say the 1955 f1 mod
but even the historic mods we use thats wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much
well it is for me anyway lol!

You'll need those 900° when we'll do a championship with this : http://www.virtualr.net/gmc-rts-88-bus-1-0-released/ :D

Wink 900°is maximum which you for nearly sure never use on racetrack...but these cars don´t have too straight steering...here you can see how much he have tu turn with steering wheel

in fact..in our everyday cars we don´t have to turn more than cca 360-400° on normal roads or racing circuit...but it is only because we don´t have to turn that much because of slight curves...I hope you understand what I want to say Wink

maybe a better example:

Shocked That's how you have your wheel guys ?? Everything on 0 ? How can you feel when a tyre is sliding ?

Mine is set quite differently (almost all the settings to 100%). That's bad cause I had found a site where all this settings were explained (what effect with what curser) but don't remember where it was ...

WOW some very different advice here of whats right and wrong i guess everyone has there own idea's
i actually thought everyone would be the same at or around 270 deg
and i thought the settings in windows would have been fairly similar ..... scratch

I Think 270 deg was the maximum that my old momo would have gone and i used to use
a setting of 13 deg in game settings so now im running 340 deg and ingame setting of 15 deg ...

Steve i will stick with the lower settings for the FFB as i value my arms lol!

And now that you've got yourself a proper wheel, why not get yourself a proper brake too Wink

Yes, I bought mine about a year ago. The pedal does take a little time to get used to but you'll never want to go back to a traditional brake Wink

I also bought this (recommended but not necessary) to go with it: http://www.leobodnar.com/products/DFPG25conn/
